Abdelkader's play is one of few positives the last couple of games. He really seems to be getting comfortable out there.

Detroit ends up a -1 in scoring tonight. The refs waive off more goals than are actually scored.

haha, doesn't it seem like both Z's and Homer's backs are no-call zones for the refs when it comes to cross-checks? sometimes I wish they would sell the calls more instead of always keeping their balance..

Can't disagree. He shows some glimpses here and there that shows that he used to be a good player, but he's got zero finishing ability and makes the wrong decision with the puck 9 out of 10 times.

I absolutely do not see any reason for why that goal shouldn't be allowed. Heels in the crease, sure, but he's not directly interfering with Kipper.

I'd gladly take Sundin instead of Bertuzzi. While we're at it, sign Naslund and Forsberg too.

true, he deserves it. I think it may be time for Babs to seriously consider putting Datsyuk with guys like Abby and Helm. He can do almost everything himself, he just needs guys that work hard and can keep up with him on his line.

Well crap. The disallowed goal in the 1st really set the tone. But the Wings played really good in the 2nd, and deserved a goal.. the early 3rd period goal obviously killed off any energy the players had. I don't know what can be done. None of the lines are playing exceptionally bad. Even Pavel's line created some chances. It's hard to shuffle the lines with the material we have right now. But something needs to change. The team is just in a bad place at the moment. They need to snap out of it somehow.

Datsyuk is flying out there. Only a matter of time before he gets it going in terms of scoring. Maybe on this PP? We need it, we're dominating but have nothing to show for it.

Datsyuk looked real focused that shift. I think he's going to get a goal this game.

Uhhh... Anaheim isn't doing any better than we are. Anyway, something is wrong with Datsyuk and I'm not sure pairing him up with Z is going to magically fix it. He seems to have almost forgotten the last couple of years. Doesn't look like he has the confidence to just take the puck to the net himself, he always tries fancy passes. And those passes are finding their target less often. Really starting to worry me.
