Everything posted by dat's sick

Everything that can possibly go wrong is doing that this season. What the hell. Ericsson makes a great play to break up the 2-on-1 and somehow the puck still goes in. We score and for some reason it's not allowed. Datsyuk needs to get going, bad. Zetterberg can't carry this team alone.

Whenever someone does, it's either a post, an amazing save, a missed open net, or the goal is disallowed. NO LUCK.

The way I understand it is that while a player is on LTIR his salary doesn't count against the cap. So while Franzen for example is gone, we should have 4 mil to play around with. But as soon as he returns we have to adjust so we can fit his salary under the cap again. So as long as no player is out for the season, it's hard for Holland to make any moves to replace injured players, except for stuff like picking up players of Waivers (like Miller).

That's an understatement to say the least. He's great on the offense though.

What are the chances Babcock were to get fired?
dat's sick replied to Winged_Wheeler's topic in General
In case someone still doesn't get it: Babcock's chances of getting fired are ZERO NADA ZIP NIL ZILCH -
I don't know what happened to Rafalski.. he used to be okay defensively and a great puckmover, now he's rubbish defensively and can't complete even the easiest of passes it seems. This year, so far, he's definitely not worth the money he makes. That said, Green and Kaberle are both worse on defense.

When Fil gets back I agree that it it might be a good idea to try him on Pavel's wing. But right now I don't think it would hurt to try Leino with him.
-
Hart - Gaborik Norris - Agree with Keith, but sadly I think Pronger will get A LOT of consideration if he keeps up. Vezina - Miller Lady Byng - Richards Calder - Del Zotto Selke - Zetterberg Adams - Terry Murray

As someone who has both Team Sweden's and the Red Wings' best interest at heart I'm torn by this. One part of me is saying go for it. Rush the rehab as much as possible so you can play the olympics and take home a gold medal. The chance doesn't come around often. But of course if he was to re-injure himself it would be devestating to the Wings. So there's that. I do think he's in the hands of a medical team that will make sure he stays on the right side of safe/sorry.. but I hope they don't hold him back from the olympics if he really is good to go.

Won't be able to watch this one (atleast not live) but I'm hoping for a big game from Datsyuk.

Kronwall's "dirtyness" is way overblown by some people.. he has a couple of questionable hits, but the vast majority of them are clean. He's has never done anything even close to being as deliberately dirty as what Laraque did.
-
Atleast Zetterberg continues to play like an absolute superstar. God damn he is good right now. Don't know how he missed that open net, but it would have been too little too late anyway. Too bad Datsyuk isn't firing on all his cylinders. I think carrying Homer and Bert around is throwing him off his game. He tries to do too much, too fancy.

yes, this VERSION of this team sucks. one (or two) too many injuries to expect them to not suck.
-
Wings really deserve to get atleast a point. Please score someone.
-
lol, you must be talking about "hockey", the kind that was played prior to the lockout. this is hockey, a completely different thing where powerplays are handed out like candy and the only qualifiction you need in order to become a referee is that you have a pulse.

nice miller, I like

Worst part of looking at this team right now is knowing that there's not much we can change for weeks until we get some players back.
-
I think suspensions should be based on how dirty the play is, not how durable/lucky the player on the receiving end is. Let's say that Kronner got away unharmed from that hit. I still think Laraque should get a long suspension. On the other hand there are plays that are more unlucky than they are dirty, but leads to a player being out for 6 months, and in those cases no suspension or a very short one may be in order. I know it doesn't work 100% (or even close to it) in the NHL, but the solution you're offering is too simplified. There are too many shades of grey for it to work.

Could the injuries cause Detroit to miss the playoffs?
dat's sick replied to Phazon's topic in General
The western conference is tough as nails. Friggin Anaheim is in last place. Anyone feel like a game against Getzlaf, Perry, Hiller etc. is an easy win? No team in the west is guaranteed a playoff spot. However, as long as we don't get any more long-term injuries to big players, we're going to be in good shape in a month or two when Kronner and Fil are back. Add another month and hopefully Franzen is back. Maybe even Lilja. As long as we don't fall behind too far in the coming weeks we should be fine. -
Lids-Rafalski Lids-Stuart Lids-Ericsson Triple-shift Lids until Kronner returns, that is the only solution imo.
-
He had a setback. He's still a long ways away sadly.
-
Any more injuries and we'll be happy just to make the playoffs.
