If this team can go on 3-game winning streaks (like they had before the Leafs game) every now and then and not have any big losing streaks in between, they'll be fine.

I hope no one is surprised by this. This forces Babs to put Leino on the 2nd line with Hank and Cleary. I expect that line to be awesome. I don't know why Eaves was scratched in the Leafs game, because his line with Drapes and Helm is the bomb. And now we'll carry an enforcer (May) in every game, so all the fighting-fans should be pleased. Williams injury is NOT going to bring this team down. In fact it might be a good thing, as long as everyone else stays healthy for the time being.

Replacing Williams? Put Leino on the 2nd line and have Eaves-Helm-Draper & May-Abdelkader-Maltby as the 3rd and 4th lines. Right? And Meech is the 13th forward/7th D. Williams was maybe our most expendable player.. he really wasn't doing anything useful out there. Shame about the injury, but it won't bring this team down if losing Filppula and Franzen hasn't. This team won 3 straight before the Leafs game. They're one point behind the Hawks. No need for panic mode just yet.

The Rangers have publicly admitted they are interested in him. The Avs are always interested in him, and have cap-space. The Caps are rumoured to be one of the top teams on his own list, and they just put Nylander on waivers which will clear some cap space. I really doubt the Wings have any chance of landing him, but it would be nice.. atleast we'd have 2 decent PP-formations again,

I kind of expected this loss to be honest. After 3 solid 60-minute games with Ozzie and the defense playing great, a letdown was bound to happen. And the Leafs have been playing pretty damn good the last 6-7 games. They could actually be on a big winning streak if they had some luck. With Gustavsson and Kessel their biggest weaknesses goaltending and goalscoring are not as bad anymore.

I've never liked Liv, but you can't blame more than 1 or 2 goals on him.. Sweden were just beyond awful and didn't seem to care. Kind of like what you'd expect from someone who has barely played a game in years. The talent is most definitely still there, but not the pace and the tempo. He was probably one of the better swedish players in the 3-game tournament, but that doesn't say a lot. He needs to start practicing with a real team (instead of juniors like he has been) to get his legs going. At times he was really impressive though, and I have no doubt that he could still be a very good player in the NHL, but like I said he needs some time to get into game-shape.

Okay Babs, Leino has shown enough. Put him up there with Hank and Danny, bench that floating floater of a floater named Williams.

Bertuzzi is the worst goal-scorer in the league... he's playing good but god damn he can't score. Either he hangs on to it for too long, or he shoots wide, or he hits the post, or he seems to be aiming for the goaltender. Snakebit is an understatement. edit: damn big E, killing all our momentum.

IF Forsberg goes to the NHL it will almost surely be to the Avs. The Rangers are an outsider, they've said that they are interested. Won't be the Wings or Hawks, even though I'd love to see him in the winged wheel. If nothing else it would give us two killer PP-formations. edit: btw he played for the Swedish National Team today against the Czech Republic. He looked okay, kind of what you'd expect from someone who has barely played a game in years, but showed some glimpses of the great skill he possesses. There are games Saturday and Sunday and he is expected to make some kind of decision shortly after that. Hudler played for the Czechs and looked average.

Gah, Crosby gets so much attention. how many threads do we need about Crosby? Does every post have to mention Crosby? Crosby is just another player. Crosby is a good player, but Crosby is not the only player in the league. So Crosby made a shot-block? Many players have made shot-blocks, not only Crosby. Good work by Crosby, but nothing special. I agree. I'm guessing Babs want Leino to really prove he deserves getting moved up.. but I think Z and Ville could create some magic together.
