Wow, Jason Williams managed to pull off the same move that 9-year old did. Goes hand in hand with him playing as physical as a 9-year old.

"beats the hell" is a bit strong for me at the moment.. but I do see more potential in Eaves than I did in Kopecky.

So far he's been filler, in the same way that Kopecky was filler last year. He really doesn't bring anything that warrants him playing instead of Helm, Abdelkader or really anyone else on the Wings roster. I think he should be rotated in though, Maltby/Draper/May shouldn't play every game.

Jason Williams had 58 points the last time he was close to playing a full season. He produced at the same pace last year, 29 points in 39 games. If he can have 50+ points this year I'd be more than happy. So far he's been a bit of a mixed bag, some nice plays and a beautiful goal but sometimes lazy in the defensive zone and kinda invisible out there for longs stretches. I think he's a better value at 1.5M than Sammy is at 2.5M.

The Wings need to play 60 minutes in this one. No slow starts.

Guess they're going to be this year's Red Wings, winning hockey games purely because of offensive firepower and despite horrible goaltending.

I can get that many people over to my house to play an NHL10 tournament. Pathetic.

He's skating his ass off and looks much stronger than before. but he still needs to get better at going to the net and taking shots instead of looking for the pass all the time. I agree that he's been our best forward so far though, and it's definitely a good thing. We need him to step up. Datsyuk and Zetterberg will dominate games too, but they can't do it all all-the-time. Solid contributions from among others Val and Ville are a must if the Wings are going to survive without Franzen, and so far so good.

So Z won't get credit for that assist? Man, that's lame.. I mean, yeah yeah the win is the only thing that matters and so on, but it would be good for Hank to get a few points so he doesn't feel so much pressure to produce.

Yeah I think it was just one certain angle that made it look like Z poked the puck to Malts. But he should atleast be credited for Raffi's goal.

After a slow 1st period the Wings worked their way into the game and played really good in the last 2 periods. Couldn't be happier for Nick. One more milestone in one of the greatest hockey-careers of all time. Also good for Z to have a 2 point night, and most of all get a goal. Maybe he'll loosen up a bit and get going. To be honest he didn't play that great tonight, atleast not for the first 2 periods. Leino/Fil were great. They deserved a goal. Helm, Maltby, Draper, Homer and Bertuzzi all had solid games. Oh, and Ozzie was fantastic!

God I feel so bad for the Mule...

I want to see Hank do more stuff like this: ..except, you know, score too. It seems rare nowadays to see him really challenge a defender and create a scoring chance. Too often his shots are from bad angles and I think that's part of why he has some trouble scoring. A lot of shots, but most of them low % ones. With Datsyuk out tonight a heavy burden falls on Z's shoulders to bring it offensively in tonights game. I still believe he can score 50 goals in a season if he stays healthy , but he needs to start becoming more confident again and sometimes go straight to goal himself instead of turning around and looking for teammates.
