Update from Sweden - Encouraging News on the Z Line
dat's sick replied to 40#1Fan's topic in General
Hank saying he's felt pretty good now two days in a row, might play against Farjestad tomorrow. It'd be good for him to atleast get a game before the season opener. -
I put him on my team too (not the LGW league). I think he'll have a career year playing on Hank's wing. Love his attitude.

Crosby has a groin injury too. OMG WHAT'S GOING ON IS OBAMA BEHIND THIS SOMEHOW??? -
It's okay, I mix up Americans with Armenians and Australians all the time.
-
I think it's funny how everyone here assumes to know why others are fans and when they became fans.
-
Well it will be on TV here in Sweden (though not on a channel I have), so hopefully someone streams it.

It seems that glitch from ver. 1.0 still isn't fixed. You know, the one where E_S_A_D would only talk about fighting and enforcers all the time.
-
Woah, I didn't know Williams had moves like that in him..
-
Most of them have been around too long and had too much success to give 100% in the pre-season.
-
Filppula/Leino have looked great, definitely the standouts. Abdelkader has also been impressive, wish there was room for him in the lineup even when Helm gets healthy. Bertuzzi is looking okay too, and Franzen/Datsyuk could be a great combo this year. Eaves and Williams have been unimpressive imo. Ozzie and Howard have both looked a little shaky at times, but atleast they both did good last night. Defensively the only one who stands out to me is Kronwall. I think he'll take a big step forward from his bad season last year. Ericsson has also looked good, atleast at times. Lebda has been absolutely horrible. Overall it hasn't exactly been a great pre-season, but I'm not too worried. Let's wait until they play with a full lineup instead of a bunch of AHLers. For example, Zetterberg is very important for this team, and he has yet to play a game.

That was unstoppable for Howard. Nice hand-eye by Stalberg, that kid could be a sensation this season if he keeps this up. -

Good 1st period, some fun back-and-forth hockey. Can't believe the Leafs didn't score on those 3-4 chances they had a minute before the Red Wings goal. -
Sources say that Philly and the Caps are the top two teams on his list if he's going for the NHL. And Philly sources seem to indicate that they aren't interested. I would have to think Washington would be though, with them losing Fedorov and trying to get rid of Nylander it would be perfect to bring in a guy like Forsberg if he's healthy. Impressions from Forsberg's comeback are good so far, his skating looks good and he has 2 goals 1 assist in 2 games, so it's not impossible.

Well, atleast you didn't play it safe... Mine: Hart Ovechkin wish it could be someone else, such as Datsyuk, but unless Forsberg actually decides to come to the Caps and has a fantastic year people are going to keep believing that Ovie is completely alone on that team. Lester B Crosby Art Ross Crosby I just have a feeling... Maurice Rocket Richard Ovechkin hey who else? Vezina Lundqvist after a so-and-so last year (which was still great by most goalies standards), he is now in 100% physical condition and will be looking to rebound. Selke Mike Richards he was close to winning this last year, and I think he'll take it next year. I'm predicting a slightly worse year for Pavel than he's had the past two, and I think Hank will continue to be overlooked. Calder Jonas Gustavsson or Ville Leino. I don't believe in Tavares so much. Lady Byng Datsyuk I know most people don't care about that award, but if he takes it one more time it sure would be amazing. Jack Adams Mike Babcock hey, he has to get it sometime right? forgot the Norris Lidstrom Believe. The playoffs must have made people realize that Green is terrible defensively, and also I don't think Green will be able to score as many goals this year.

Kind of a weak lineup today, but I'm looking forward to seeing how Eaves work together with Finnishers.
-
I hate the Canadiens but I got goosebumps from that trailer.
-
Big E hasn't had a good game.
-
Well, first of all I don't think that goal in Game 7 was that weak by Ozzie. And letting in 2 goals is acceptable for a goalie, especially for Ozzie who isn't supposed to be winning games single-handedly. The Wings only scored 1 goal, and Cleary gets a breakaway with less than 2 minutes left (of Game 6, my mistake) and he misses badly. I love Cleary, I'm not trying to bash him. Just think that he is not the most clutch of scorers, and on breakaways he seems so easy to read.
-
If the game ended 5-4 Pens you might have had a point.
-
Cleary missed a breakaway in Game 7 of the SCF. He's hardly a clutch breakaway scorer.
-
They had already decided before the game that Gusty would only play one period. Tomorrow he's supposed to play the whole game I think.
-
Brad May seems like an awesome guy judging by that interview. Oh, and thanks Red Wings for giving us a good look at Gustavsson.. jeez, get some shots on goals will ya?
-
You're the master of exaggeration. The past few years? He had a so-and-so first half of last season, and was slowed down by injury trouble in the playoffs, but still had a good year. The two years before last were some of the best seasons he's ever had.
