During a stretch of few games in the middle of last season.. What makes me a bit sad if they're split up is that in interviews both Z and Pavel always say how much they love playing together. When they were paired up last season, Z made it sound like he had "done his time" with other linemates and was now finally back with his buddy. But oh well, what's best for them might not be best for the team?

Yep, I mentioned that earlier. Both goals came off deflections, but both deflections were minor ones that he could have saved had he just made himself a bit bigger.

That keep-in by Datsyuk at the end was epic. Hell, that whole shift, and his whole game was great. He looked in mid-season form. Miller saved the Sabres in this game. Howard's performance didn't make me more confident in him. Tatar looked good other than one bad giveaway in the defensive zone. Not NHL ready maybe, but he should be in GR.

Two goals off deflections. Shouldn't really blame Howard, but I feel he makes himself too 'small' sometimes.

I like Datsyuk-Mule too, even though I think Mule has been kinda weak on the puck a few times. Tatar does NOT look like a junior player. He should be with Grand Rapids for sure.

what's important is that homer got his stick on the puck. it was a rare sight last season.

Easy: Washington. and a beautiful set up by Pavel on that goal. He's SO good, I almost forgot during the playoffs and offseason.

Parise I'd put Lundqvist ahead of Luongo btw. But that's just me.

Can't wait to see Tatar, even though he can't possibly live up to the expectations I have based on all the glowing reports from training camp. Also, now is about the time when Howard needs to step up and start looking like an NHL goalie.

You do know he's entering his 5th season with the Rags, right? Sending out a bunch of prospects against him seems almost unfair. But I guess they'll have the 2nd half of the game to score some goals.

Filppula is totally going to have a breakout year. I can just see it in his step, he's focused.

I think the idea is to have him play in a junior league and dominate, build up his confidence and have him develop even more of a scoring touch. Not sure if that's the way to go, like you say he's been playing in a Pro League and he's done it well. Don't think he'd be the first in line to be called up though even if he plays in Grand Rapids.

Something like this. Probably change Maltby for Eaves. I want to see Datsyuk and Zetterberg together too, but splitting them up gives us better depth and this way we have 3 lines that are very comparable to what we had last year. But I'm sure Babs will switch up the lines every two games like he usually does, so we'll probably see all kinds of different combinations.

One could say Pavel and Hank play the same role, but they work alright together. Not saying I want Franzen and Homer on the same line, but two guys that are good at getting to the net and creating traffic and a guy who shoots the puck from all angles of the ice (Z)? Sounds like it might be a decent combination to me.
