Doubt he'll be suspended, that could actually help our team and that would go against everything happening lately.
-
Did Babcock just move Jurco down the lineup after he's scored and been our best player the first 12 minutes?
-
It sucks that guys like Kronner and Alfie make mistakes though. Our veterans have to be better in this situation.
-
*gotta make this 5,000th post a good one* LINEUP IS POO WHY GOD WHY LOOSE IS WILL BE US :-(((((( GO injuRED WINGS

I think if we could only ice a lineup looking like this: Jurco-Datsyuk-Alfredsson Miller-Andersson-Tatar Cleary-Glendening-Eaves Bertuzzi-Sheahan-Samuelsson things would turn around. Very balanced lines, each line has a scorer (Alfie, Tatar, Eaves, Sammy) a great puck-carrying center and a playmaker. With this our 2nd PP unit would look something like: Cleary-Tatar-Eaves Kindl-Sammy and I can't imagine that not being an effective unit.
-
I don't think even having 4 guys on one line and 2 Pulkkinens would help much right now. Why is every injury happening to the guys that we desperately need!? Sammy, Quincey and Cleary are gonna go through this season fully healthy aren't they?
-
Has Mikael Samuelsson finally played his last game for Detroit?

All in favor of 55fan season ban, say 'aye'. Aye. -

Unreal. I don't know what to say anymore.

Weren't we like 5-0 after Datsyuk went down? The Lightning aren't doing that good, they're surviving. The numbers before and after Stamkos got hurt are night and day. Maybe because they just beat us it may seem like they're not struggling. -

Pittsburgh's got the two best players in the world up front. As long as they're both healthy they can cope with most injuries. I wouldn't say they have as many quality players out of the lineup as we have either. But sure, it's impressive that they're not struggling at all with so many d-men out. Tampa's not doing much better than us. They're 5-3-2 and we're 4-4-2. Once again, other than Stamkos and Hedman they're not missing as many valuable pieces as we are. Boston? Eriksson and Iginla are good players but that's like us being without Franzen and Alfie, which we would easily survive. Other than that they're not terribly hit. Columbus? I'm not really aware what injuries they have, but they're 13th in the conference so maybe in their case injuries offer a shakeup to improve their play? Anyway, again, they're not exactly dominating with their 5-4-1 record. -
Why the wings get injured A. No enforcers on the team B. Playing in the Eastern conference C. injuries

What other teams are "pressing on" through injuries half as bad as the Wings have? -
Their defense and goaltending hasn't been very good actually. They score insane amounts of goals but also are among the worst in Goals Allowed. Also I saw a breakdown of their schedule so far and it was very easy, against playoff teams their record is mediocre. So the answer would be yes. In the West I think a team like St Louis or maybe the Sharks or Kings could take them down. But they are the reigning cup champs and are one of the 2-3 most likely teams to win it this year.

I haven't seen anything from Shehan that's been impressive but I honestly haven't seen him much. Hope he can give a good impression. Detroit Griffins next game, huh?

So what do you think we should do? Trade everyone who is "injury prone" in your eyes? Acquire 3-4 enforcers that guard everyone of our injury prone players? Injuries are expected, that they all come at the same time to key players is not. In just a week or two we should be in better shape. Everyone just needs to calm down and ride this out. When healthy, this team is definitely making the playoffs and has a very good chance of doing so in a top 4 position in the East. -

^^^ this right here. It's pure being a spoiled fan if you expect a team to keep crusing like nothing despite being without so many of it's best players. It's a rough stretch but we can't forget how good this team was starting to look before Zetterberg and Helm went down. -
I think it was as good as it can be with Franzen and Z out and Datsyuk not at 100%. Dats had a post and a missed open net. Alfie had a few chances. Jurco had 1 or 2 attempts. No one can score, we need to score to win games.
-
This whole team is snakebit. Open nets aren't even a scoring chance for us. When we score it's disallowed, probably because the refs can't understand what just happened.
-
He looked good. Nervous at first but looked more comfortable in the last 2 periods. He had some nice plays and seemed able to handle the defensive part and the physical side. Looks more NHL ready than I thought he would. Shame he probably has no chance to make the roster this year.
-
Really doubt they'd want camera crews around at such high-pressure times.

Tampa played extremely boring hockey in this game. Just chip it out of the zone, dump it in, stay back, and wait for a mistake (thanks Kindl). Good gameplan against the broken Wings but so boring. #1 priority: fix the PP!!! We could have won so many games with a half-decent PP. Stop playing Kindl on it. Eaves? Really? Stop with Alfie on the point. Make changes. Pretty ugly to watch this team right now. Z is like the engine that drives the bus, Helm is the wheels. Datsyuk is the bus driver but he is not himself right now (f*** you Cowen). Franzen is that guy who can help push the bus sometimes and now he went down too. Things just get worse don't they?? At this point it's looking unlikely we'll see many points for a few weeks. Good stuff: * I liked Jurco. He didn't look outmatched, he just needs NHL experience. Keep him up. * Tatar and Nyquist played with good jump. Shame they're not getting rewarded lately. * Mrazek played well. Can't ask for more out of him. * Glendening is good, as is Eaves. aaaaand that's it. Kronner had some bad plays. Kindl is horrible and I want him gone. Bert is painfully slow and anytime he's out there when we're in the defensive zone we're basically on the PK. Alfie is wasting a ton of great scoring chances lately and has to start finishing.
-
Getting pretty tired of us playing well but not getting goals/wins. We're so close all the time. Just win this one please.
-
He looks like a guy playing his first NHL game. Nothing wrong with that, he's young and just going into an NHL arena and playing next to DATSYUK must be crazy. Looked good last shift or two though, hope he gets some PP time as well. Mrazek looks like he's continued his development in the right direction.

Yes I can't believe they've been scratching Zetterberg, Helm, Howard and Dekeyser lately. Now I hear Abby's getting pulled too? I love the the way this team will look when healthy. Zetterberg-Datsyuk-Alfredsson Franzen-Weiss-Nyquist Abdelkader-Helm-Tatar Miller-Andersson-Glendening is my guess at a post- trade deadline lineup without injuries. Maybe I'm too optimistic, but Babcock seems to slowly be getting over his Cleary love affair and Bert will probably play his way out of the lineup by that point. The only question is Weiss but he could possibly be shuffled to the 4th line and Helm on 2nd if he keeps playing like he has been.
