That would have been my favorite moment in this playoffs. But Helm scoring the goal was almost as great.

I was hoping that the Pens wouldn't even make the playoffs, but when it became apparant that they would go far I kinda started hoping for this matchup. Not because I think the Wings will win easy or anything, but because no other possible matchup has all the storylines and history that this one has. It's going to be a very fun SCF.

Yeah, I mean it was a great shot by Kane and Lebda didn't do any huge error, but I would have wanted him to be a little more active in getting his stick in Kane's way so he couldn't get as good of a shot. But this is Lebda we're talking about, and you can't expect Lidstrom-like play from him. The fact that he played top-4 minutes in a Game 5 of the WCF, barely made any mistakes, and even contributed offensively, is amazing.

He was a bit passive on the Kane goal, but other than that he was and has been excellent.

Kovalchuk is the last player in the NHL that I'd want on the Red Wings. And I don't think Holland would be very interested in him anyway.

I agree that the Ducks were probably the toughest team in the playoffs. However, that series and this one against the Hawks have clearly taken their toll on this team. I don't believe that the Pens could beat a fully healthy and rested Wings team. But a bruised, decimated and tired Wings team? That is a different story.

Hawks had a great season, but they didn't quite have what it takes to go all the way this year. The future for that team looks bright, if they can overcome cap trouble. Hopefully this is the start of a great rivalry. Btw, that Hjalmarsson kid really impressed me in this series.

I don't think there's a team in the league that wouldn't kill to have a player like Helm on their team. Awesome guy. Hope we see more of him on the PK.

Wait, the Wings finally ended the PP goal allowed streak tonight, didn't they? WOOO. The PK has to work flawlessly if we're going to beat the Pens.

All hinges on whether we get back Lids or not. As good as Stuart, Kronner and the others have been in his absence, we NEED him if we are going to have any chance of shutting down Crosby and Malkin. To hear that he's walking around with a limp makes me worried. Without Lids: Pens in 7. With Lids: Wings in 5.

Thanks, I almost forgot! Btw, this was one of the best games I've seen in the playoffs. Two teams playing great, with fantastic goaltending on both sides. I love the way everyone has stepped up in the absence of Datsyuk and Lids, but I really, really don't want them to miss any more games. Although these last two games must have cemented the fact that Hossa should never ever leave Filppula's wing. And how amazing is Helm? Apparantly he now has the record for most playoff goals by a player that has not scored in the regular season

Yep, this will be only the 2nd playoff game he has missed in his career. At his age and on a team that has made the playoffs every year since he got here, that's incredible.

I'm not surprised Havlat isn't playing. He probably shouldn't have played in the last game. This evens things out a bit on the injury front.

He's an expert. I'm not worried about Nick and Pav. But it would be nice if the SCF could start June 5th even if we won tonight. 2 days off before the finals doesn't feel like a lot of time, especially with the first two games being back-to-back.

I'm still waiting for my Z jersey.. I ordered it like a month before the playoffs started.. :/ This game is sort of weird.. losing this one and winning the next instead looks like it would actually be better for the Wings since they'd get a lot more rest, but you never want to lose a playoff game. And we don't want to give the Hawks their confidence back. A loss tonight and this series could go to 7. I think the Wings will do their very best to close the series tonight. 5-3 Wings.
