True, but I'm a bit annoyed that the Pens managed to avoid the Devils and Bruins, imo the two most "western" teams in the East, and the teams that I think would have given them the most trouble. If the Pens win the cup they should give the Conn Smythe to all the players in the Canes. They took care of the two best teams in the conference and then rolled over in the ECF.

For sure, until his new contract kicks in.

It can't have anything to do with the fact that the excitement would pretty much be completely killed if there's a week+ between series. And I think Game 1 and 2 are back-to-back regardless of when the SCF starts.

I'm torn between wanting the SCF to start this weekend and wanting the Wings to get some extra rest. Hopefully the Canes atleast try to play like an NHL team for once in this series.

Really? what about all those regular season games that Pavel didn't play in because he was lazy and not tough enough to play with some bruises? oh wait.. he only missed one game, and that was because of a stupid suspension. If Pavel can get his foot down in his skate tomorrow, he's going to play.

I like that Conklin now has more to his playoff-career than that dreadful mistake in Edmonton. But I'm so glad nothing's wrong with Oz. He played great in the first 2 periods.

I think it makes it even more impressive that the team has continued to be just as succesful after the lockout. Really shows the strenght of the organization, top to bottom.

I think you're spot on. Broken record here, but when Datsyuk gets back I want him to be paired with Zetterberg and Hossa to stay with Flip. Would be interesting to see a Datsyuk-Zetterberg-Franzen line.. How crazy of a streak is that haha? Hopefully he breaks it (in the good way).

I've been a big defender of him all season. He's a terrific player that seems to get better the bigger the games are. He still needs to shoot more, but other than that he's been fantastic in the playoffs.

Let me just say that I'm so ******* proud of the way the team played. When I heard Lidstrom wouldn't be playing, I got this really bad feeling that the series would slip out of our hands because of injuries, but I should have known that they wouldn't let that happen. Hossa!! Where have you been? This is how you can play, this is why it's going to hurt if we lose you. Hope this was not some temporary wake-up, and that he keeps this up. Fil, Huds, Z, Ozzie etc., everyone stepped up and took care of business. One thing though: How hard is it to get a hat-trick?? It's not going to happen this year is it? Anyway, awesome game. Finish this off at home!

Malkin has 28 points and is a +3.. he's not close to being a complete player. Neither is Ovechkin or Crosby, although Sid is the closest to getting there. Logically Ovie should win more Hart trophies than Malkin and Crosby, just because he's the lone real superstar on his team. Who knows about the Art Ross. It's so much depending on who stays healthy the most.

I'm sure this is the kind of letter that will make the NHL take a long, hard look at doing something to the officiating in the league.

I never saw a replay of it (big surprise), but I know Stuart was high-sticked in the 1st period and had to get stitches, but there was no call.. :/
