Wow, the Canes can't do anything right in their own zone. They're out of gas, Cam Ward is falling apart. Pens for the sweep.
-
..and that's exactly what the Pens needed to take away the Canes momentum. Terrible giveaway by the Canes D.
-
1-0 Canes. They look really good so far, hope they keep it up.
-
What an adorable little girl singing the national anthem.
-
In a way I am too, because the one thing that I felt could stop the Wings in this series was injuries to important players. But as long as we don't get any players tossed out of the game for absolutely no reason, we should be fine with this lineup.
-
Sucks. Not that we can't win without Datsyuk, we almost did it last night, but this really hasn't been Pavel's playoffs.. Atleast we get some more Leino.
-
I don't want a rested Pens team to go into the SCF regardless of whether the Hawks or Wings move on. If the Wings don't win the cup I'd rather see the Hawks or Canes do it.
-
Canes better get their s*** together. They looked terrible in the last game. I don't want the Pens to win the series in 4 or 5 games, that gives them way too much rest.
-
Unless the Pens are playing. I'm not sure they've been in an OT this playoffs without getting a PP. Against the Flyers they even got a 2-man advantage. In OT.
-
Don't care about the lines, as long as Helm, Leino and Ericsson are in there full-time. If Hossa won't sign for 4-5 mil tops, let him go. We can't lose young guys like Hudler and/or Filppula because of a 30-year old playoff ghost.
-
That is the weakest s*** I have ever head. "he didn't have to hit him" ? This is hockey, man. Scratch that, this is PLAYOFF hockey. I realize it's been a long time since you've experienced it, but hits are kind of a part of it. Oh, and Havlat had the puck in between his skates. Technically that means he was in control of the puck.

I actually took a closer look at it and I don't see it the way you see it at all. Babs was talking to ref and it seems like the player next to Franzen on the bench said something, gave his input on whatever they were talking about maybe, and Babs exchanged some words with that player. Babs was agitated but it seemed to be more in general about the way the game and the officiating had been than anything directed towards any of the Wings players. Fil was just observing the whole discussion. Pretty much what shoe said, although I think it looks like Babs was actually not talking to Franzen.
-
I saw it. Babs can be a scary guy sometimes. But to me it kinda looked like he must have been yelling at someone further down the bench than Franzen. The Mule didn't even look at Babs, which to me would be kinda rude if it was him that Babs was talking to.
-
Who is wishing Havlat got hurt? I think it's scary as f*** when a player gets knocked out like that, but that don't change the fact that the hit was good and clean. When you don't keep your head up, it hurts. I learned that lesson the hard way, and that was on a much, much lower level than the NHL.
-
Babs pretty much confirmed that the refs are "untouchable". Everyone has bad games, except for them. Bad games don't exists for the refs.

I thought Z had a really strong game. He can't seem to score with a goalie in the net right now, but he created chances and played good. Franzen was kind of invisible though. This is the kind of game where I wish Hossa could have stepped up and carried some of the load. But it was maybe his worst game in a while. When it comes to the defense, I have to give Lebda some appreciation. I'm really impressed with the way he's played in the playoffs, and he really did his part in covering up the loss of Kronner. A 1st period like this won't happen often, but the Wings can't continue to act like the game starts in the 2nd period. The Hawks have scored first in every game of the series, and that isn't good enough. They showed amazing resiliance and heart with the way they came back, but for next game their goal should be to never fall behind in the first place.
-
What's funny is that people are saying it's dirty because Havlat never touched the puck. So if the puck is coming towards you, you can just avoid touching it and no one can hit you without getting a penalty? Just keep it between your feet and protect it? That's great.

Franzen-Filppula-Hossa.

Anyone else feel like Leino SHOULD be in the lineup even if Datsyuk comes back? Sit Maltby. -

This really could go either way. Still, I'm strangely calm. -

We haven't even played a whole period yet and people are already giving up? Didn't you expect this kind of start to this game? Granted I had hoped they could keep the Hawks off the board a little longer, but there's so much time left that I don't doubt that the Wings can turn this around. -
If the Wings win tonight I'll start looking ahead to the SCF.. not until then. Let me just say that with the way Malkin and Crosby are playing, the Pens are a tough team to stop.
