Having just 442 PIM over 1330 games is incredibly impressive to me.

I normally think Sammy gets to much hate around here, but when it comes to the PP, I have to agree. He doesn't do a hell of a lot right on it, and I'd love to see Ericsson or Stuart get some more PP-time. In Babcock's defense, Sammy has had some PP-goals from the left side on one-timers before, so it's not like it's never worked with him out there. But lately he's accomplished nothing.

There was good and bad things about this game, but we won. That's all I care about. But Datsyuk, Hossa and Z didn't play anywhere near their potential today. Get them going and the Ducks aren't going to have it easy.

Now is the time. Hossa, Datsyuk, Zetterberg, anyone- step up! Go to the net, HARD. Get in Hiller's face. That's how we're going to score goals this series.

The best drinking game is to take a shot everytime Ovechkin chooses to shoot when he should have passed instead. I passed out halfway through the 1st period the last time I tried that.

Pretty good game between Sweden and USA. Sweden down 2-5, turned it around to 5-5 in the 3rd and won in OT. Jonas Gustafsson looked shaky at times, and should have had atleast one or two of the goals, but he did some great saves. I'd definitely rather have him in net than Stefan Liv.

Woo! I was afraid he would be overlooked. Ovie will probably win it, but it's good to see that more people are starting to realize what an amazing player Datsyuk is.

I can think of many reasons why someone wouldn't like him.

Yeah, those games will most likely be the end of me. Atleast Game 2 is early.

What a night of hockey. The Rags/Caps game was great. That goaltending by Lundqvist was something else.. inspiring stuff. He deserves to play on a team that can score goals. Even though the Rangers played a good game, probably their best of the series, it's still almost shocking how few good scoring chances they produce, even against a Washington defense that is anything but intimidating. Didn't see much of the Canes/Devils, but I caught the last 5-10 minutes and HOLY MOSES.

Will be a fun series. Both teams have some serious offensive firepower, and neither of them have a very solid D. Go Caps!

I picked the Rags and Canes in 7 before the playoffs started.. but now I don't know. It will take a miracle performance by Lundqvist for the Rags to win, and I think he's too tired to pull another one of those off. Besides, it would be a waste if the Rags won. They'd never be able to shake the Bruins. The Caps have a bigger chance of doing some damage, and I'd rather see them come out of the East than the Pens or Bruins. Canes/Devils could really go either way. I'm predicting OT in that game.

I would say part of being depressed IS always expecting the worst to happen. Agreed.

Good call. Latvia played a great game and won after shoot-out. 1+6 for Linus Omark after the first 2 games, not against the greatest opposition but still he's been one of our best players so far.

other than maybe the 1st period of the first game in the 2nd round, I don't think it will be anything but a good thing to get some rest.

Taking real-world rules into consideration (and the fact that Crosby behaves like a spoiled 12-year old)? No, I wouldn't want him on the Wings. In the fantasy-land where the Wings could just pick him up for free and stick him on the 3rd line? Yeah, I'd take him. In this scenario, I'd take Ovechkin and Malkin as well, those 3 would make a decent 3rd line.

Tortorella is crazy. Just watch some of the post-game pressers that he's done this series. The one after game 5 was pretty funny. "No questions? Well, ask them dammit." "Don't ask me that." etc. He's obviously done some good things with the Rangers team, just getting them into the playoffs is an achievement, and they're still in the driver's seat in this series, but I would guess he's the kind of coach that sooner or later the players just stop listening to because they're fed up. I'm not going to count the Rangers out just yet, Lundqvist could win this series for them, but the coach losing it like this at such an important time when he has to get the team motivated to close the series (which is very difficult to do) is not a good sign for them. Also, they need Avery. Despite taking stupid penalties, he is important for them. I've liked Babcock since day one, but more and more I'm realizing just how classy he is compared to many of the other coaches in the league.
