East #1 Boston vs. #8 Montreal Bruins in 4. Habs are a not a good team, they have injuries and inconsistant goaltending. I don't think they have what it takes to pull it together and give the Bruins trouble. #2 Washington vs. #7 New York In the end, defense often wins in the playoffs. Caps defense and goaltending has looked shaky to say the least this season and especially lately, while Lundqvist seem to have really started to step up his game. The Rangers also have a good defense and an amazing PK which could potentially neutralize the Caps biggest weapon, their PP. Will be a tough series, but I say Rangers in 6 (maybe 7). #3 New Jersey vs. #6 Carolina This will be a tight series. My gut feeling tells me the Hurricanes are a little bit stronger, but if Brodeur is on his game the Devils could very well take it. Hurricanes in 7. #4 Pittsburgh vs. #5 Philadelphia Flyers in 5. Really wouldn't surprise me to see the Pens take it in 4, but Flyers is the better team, and if they can find a way to stop Malkin and Crosby (easier said than done), this series should be theirs pretty easily. West #1 San Jose vs. #8 Anaheim Ducks are hot. If they take either of the first two games I could see this series getting ugly for the Sharks. But I have a feeling the Sharks have had enough of choking in the playoffs, and will go far this year. Sharks in 6. #2 Detroit vs. #7 Columbus First two games are vital. Will the Wings be able to "flick the switch" and start playing good right out the gate? I would not want to go into Columbus with a 1-1 or even 0-2 standing. But I have faith that the team is ready. Mason steals one game, but that's all. Wings in 5. #3 Vancouver vs. #6 St. Louis I don't see why people think the Blues will even have a chance here. Mason won't outplay Loungo. The Blues are a fun young team, but this year is "watch and learn" for them. Canucks in 4. #4 Chicago vs. #5 Calgary This series could go either way. I'll say Flames in 6, they're heavier and more experienced.

new draft technique: find goalies whose last name is "mason".
-
Maybe hire a coach that knows you can't win every game 1-0.
-
Don't they have like 2 games in a row without a goal? And no goal yet in this game.
-
I posted this in another thread, it's almost the same as yours: Homer-Dats-Hossa Leino-Z-Franzen Kopecky-Helm-Cleary Abdelkader-Draper-Maltby Lids-Raffy Kronner-Stuart Lilja-Ericsson Ozzie Howard (Larsson)

Great game! Wooo! Bring on the playoffs!
-
Not in this game. In Game 1 of the playoffs, he's gotta get down to block those shots.
-
Scoring goals, the Wings can't.
-
I agree. And Cleary's been terrible last couple of months. But for some reason I think the chances are higher that they keep Cleary than Hudler.
-
Why can't this team score anymore?
-
I can't make a choice. Both teams will give us a tough series. Blue Jackets would be better just because it means less travel for the team and earlier games for us euros. But they have Mason and Nash. Anaheim has Gigure who doesn't intimidate me in the least, but they also have Pronger who is sure to injure atleast a half dozen of our players. Playoff-revenge against the Ducks, or making the Blue Jacket's first playoff appearance a short one? It's too hard to decide. Btw, I was hoping for the Blues. That's a team I would have felt comfortable facing.

Could we afford to sign Hossa for 6 mil while "only" losing Hudler, Filppula, Sammy, Lebda, Cheli and Conklin? Giving us this team next season: Homer-Dats-Hossa Leino-Z-Franzen Kopecky-Helm-Cleary Abdelkader-Draper-Maltby Lids-Raffy Kronner-Stuart Lilja-Ericsson Ozzie Howard (Larsson)
-
Right, but who do you think will win?
-
All I ask for is no injuries. Things that would be sweet but are just bonuses: * A big, comfortable win. * Dats and/or Lids getting 3 points for a 100/1000. * Z having a 4 point game to get to a Point-per game status this season. * Anyone getting a hat-trick (can be combined with the above mentioned things) * Datsyuk getting a +2 or more to win the +/- league (if Krecji is a +/- 0 in the Bruins last game). * A no-goals allowed game for Ozzie to give him confidence going into the playoffs.
-
They said something about Kronner being really angry (understandably so) and breaking his stick against the boards, and then they cut to someone being hurt on the Hawks-bench and I was like "damn kronner, chill out.." .. But seriously, I don't know what happened. Probably some jackass in the crowd throwing stuff at the Hawks bench.

I really like the goal against Dallas where Datsyuk dekes someone and makes a perfect pass to Homer who just puts it in. And the one recently against Philly I think, where he kinda jumped around a player to beat him to the puck, and made a cross-ice pass to Franzen for the goal. I didn't want to be boring and choose "other" though, so I went with Z's spin-o-rama. Something about it just makes me feel so good watching it. Maybe because it's against the Sharks, maybe because it's short-handed. Or maybe because it's one of the few times this season Z has shown the magic we saw game in and game out in last year's playoffs.

A game the Wings should have won, but couldn't because of being outmatched in goaltending and the refs tripping on acid? Well, there's a first for everything. Thank god this was a meaningless game, if we were still fighting for the Presiden'ts Trophy I'd be pissed. Also, Pavel is so going to score a hat-trick tomorrow.
-
Sharks down 3-1 against Kings. Bruins down 5-0 against Sabres. What a fight for that President's trophy.
-
Loved the montage of the year's highlights, although it could have been longer Pavel needs a point in the 3rd!
-
Z worked so damn hard for that goal.
-
I thought they played pretty good. Ozzie was great for most of the game, he really deserved to get the Win. Nashville were desperate, got some help from the refs and still would have most likely lost if it was a playoff game where there are no shootouts. The Wings dominated in the OT, and had a few chances to put the game away. It's a bit worrying that they can't seem to hold on to leads late in the game though. Also I agree with everyone blaming Babcock. Datsyuk with Homer and Filppula? That doesn't make much sense to me.
-
Actually that wasn't very impressive to me either. Maybe it's just that we've seen a number of great shootout goals lately, the bar has kinda been raised. Had the shot gone straight in it would have been awesome.. now it was just a nice move that was very close to making him look kinda dumb. But Ribeiro has some skill, he's done a couple of nice moves in SO's.

Rangers clinched a playoff spot with a 2-1 win over Philly.
-
Kronner! PP is back in business!
-
Yeah. Ovie actually has the lowest PPM of the top 5 in scoring. Not a huge difference though, something like .063 for Datsyuk to Ovie's .060.
