Yeah... let me know when the game starts ok? And I hope what I saw at the end there was NOT Babs already breaking up ZDH again.. Hank out with Cleary and Sammy..

They're not getting shots on goal on the PP lately. Too much passing around the boards.

For sure, but don't count on that happening in this game I believe Z is one point away from 400 in his career, and he hasn't gotten a point in the last 2 games. Like you said, if the Wings get some more power plays, and start scoring on them which they haven't really done lately, Lids could reach 1000. Pavel is due for some easy points I feel.. just some 2nd assists and rebound goals or something. If Babs keep Hank and Pav together the rest of the season he should reach 100.

It's time for 2 things: * A big win. No "late 3rd period rally to win it by one goal"- crap, I'm talking domination from start to finish, and showing why the Wings have scored the most goals in the league. Something like 8-1 or 14-3 would be great. * For Z to get to 400 points and 30 goals.

Awesome. Pleasantly surprised, I thought for sure the Preds would choke at the end. Rinne was great. All even again between the Wings and Sharks.. damn, this isn't going to be decided until the very last game, is it?

wow, I switched to the Rangers game because that seemed more interesting than the Sharks game, and suddenly Nashville scores 3. Figures. Still, like I said before the game: shootout. Bet on it.

ESPN's Top 10 'Goalies Gone Wild'

Of course Ozzie didn't win that fight, he got no help at all from the defense.

Note to self: don't get excited if Nashville has a lead at any point in the game.. Like every other Sharks game, this will most likely be decided with a shoot-out.

Steve Mason -- A Bit Overrated

I agree with most of the OP, except for the mention of Fleury.. yeah, lately he's been playing better, but he's been mostly terrible all year. Put Lundqvist in there instead, who even though he's having his worst year since coming to the league is still carrying the Rangers.

    Thursday practice notes

Finally. It makes me all giddy with excitement to see that Babs is putting ZDH together again. And Cleary is back to where he belongs, on the bottom 2 lines. Put in Helm instead of Maltby, Leino instead of Kopecky and Lilja over Lebda and that is one hell of a lineup.

Of course. If it wasn't for Ozzie the Wings would be on a 74 game winning streak this season. Unlike the above, that actually wasn't sarcasm. Vancouver is looking really strong, while Chicago is falling apart. I wouldn't be surprised if the Canucks won 4-0 if they do meet in the 1st round. Atleast the Hawks won the shootout. Shame they gave the Sharks a free point though.

Yep, no way in hell they'll beat vancouver in a series.

Is anyone surprised? The Sharks always manage to get atleast a point, even if they're down 4 goals with a minute to go. Now watch Chicago miss 12 breakaways and go on to lose in the shoot-out.

The misconception that Datsyuk and Zetterberg are equal

My favorite player on the Wings team actually is Hank, despite my username. But this season, Pavel has been the better of the two. Eh, there's so much on the internet that there's no point to, doesn't mean I don't contribute with even more pointlessness myself. I just don't see the reason for this thread because they're both here for the long-term, they're both awesome and who cares who is more awesome than the other? But no, there's nothing "wrong" with discussing it.. just like there's nothing wrong with discussing whether apples really are equal to oranges.

Luongo on his way to Detroit?

I was just thinking that. Where are you going to find a defenseman of Lidstrom's caliber? Nowhere, that's where. When he retires the Wings defense is going to get a lot less solid, and one way to remedy that would be to acquire a goaltender like Luongo. Doubt it's going to happen, but it would be cool.

The misconception that Datsyuk and Zetterberg are equal

This season there has been no question, Datsyuk has been better than Z at almost everything. Easily. Datsyuk also happens to have been one one of the best players in the league this season, while Z has simply been very solid. But looking at their careers before this year, they're very close. Both have their strenghts. Z is having an off year by his standards, while Pavel has bloomed into the superstar we all thought he could become. Also, I think Z has shown in the past that he can produce on lines without Pavel, but obviously they're BOTH better together. Yeah, Pavel could score 80 points on a line with me and my grandma, while Z might need a little more help, but he has by no means had a free-ride on Pavel's back in the past. Pavel is 2 years older. I wouldn't be surprised if Z first of all has a great playoffs, but also if he bounces back next season and has a 100-point year. Bottom line is we're lucky to have them both. I don't see the point of this thread. At all.

    No assist for Datsyuk?

I find it amazing that Pav didn't get any points last night. Some of the shifts he did were crazy, he was everywhere doing everything except scoring. He's due for some easy points, Friday against Islanders could very well be a big night for him.
