Right. Because the Red Wings organization will magically become terrible overnight because they play two games in Europe at the start of the season.. You can start to worry when the Wings give guys like Gomez and Drury 8 mil contracts, not when they have an extended road trip at the start of the season.

Pavel seems to have cooled off a little bit lately, he hasn't been as dominating the last couple of weeks as he was in December/January and the beginning of February, but on the other hand he now plays with Hank and the two of them are bound to produce a lot of points. Still, Ovie, Malkin and Crosby just never seem to get let off the gas very much. The question is if Malkin and Crosby will step up and play their brains out to try and make the playoffs, or if they will slow down as it becomes more and more obvious that they won't make it. Ovie looks crazy hot lately and probably has the best chance of catching up to Malkin. If Pavel can finish in the top 4 it's amazing, considering he has so much less TOI/game and takes much more defensive responsibility. It would be awesome if he could reach a 100 points, I don't care so much if he gets 2nd, 3rd or 5th in scoring.

Missed the 1st, but the Caps have looked great in the 2nd. Ovechkin is a monster, Fleury is terrible (they pulled him after the 5th goal) and overall the Pens just look lost. I love seeing the Pens destroyed.

Yeah, that Nabokov save is one of the nicest ones I've ever seen. This Turco save was great, but Toews waited far too long with the shot, and we've seen similar desperation saves many times before. I'm more impressed by saves like the one by Nabby above, and the glove hand reflex-save by Loungo in the game against Calgary the other day.

There was actually some boo's whenever he touched the puck, atleast in the beginning of the game. The whole standing ovation and the cheers after he won the shoot-out was pretty touching though.

Definitely. The team always looks so much better in front of Conklin. I can't remember a total brainfart of a game like tonight when we've had Conks in net.

How the puck did not find the back of the net in that last minute I will never know.. but I guess that was the story of the game for us.. even when we did good things (rarely), the puck would not bounce our way. I feel exhausted from watching this game. God I hope we don't have to meet Minnesota in the playoffs. Most boring team in the league, and a horrible fit for us. Not going to say much else about the game.. let's just forget it and look forward to a better effort against San Jose.

Points isn't everything, and even my grandma would get points playing with Pav and Z. Cleary has been pretty bad imo the last 6-7 games, apart from his 2 goal game. I'd like to see how Franzen works on the 1st line.

Franzen has looked awesome since he got back from his injury. His stickhandling is absolutely sick sometimes. I wish Babs would move him up the 1st and put Cleary on the 2nd, Hossa and Franzen just aren't finding eachother and Cleary is dragging down the eurotwins.

Probably a combination of this being a back-to-back for us and it being basically a Playoff game for the Wild. You have to hand it to them, they're playing like their lives depended on it. If we can ride the 1st period out without letting in any more goals, we should be able to get back in it.
