Great work by Rafalski on that PP to keep the puck in a few times. Don't stop playing now.
-
Cleary on the 2nd, Franzen on the 1st? Like that move if so.
-
Oh my, that was a pretty goal.

LIIIIIIIIIIDS!!!!!!!!

The best thing in that period, besides the fact that we're up 2-1: Kronwall's hit on ChooChoo. Starting to see the return of Playoff-Kronner? Btw, how many times have we let in a goal during the last 5-10 seconds of a PK this season? Feels like atleast a dozen.

Definitely, but I thought it looked good when Helm was on it too.
-
Our 4th line is pretty good as long as you don't have both Maltby and Kopecky on it.

EURO TWINS are awesome! Awesome is PP!
-
Can we try to keep the Ozzie-bashing to a minimum now when he's actually NOT PLAYING.

HUDS!

Here's hoping Draper has a great game tonight!

That was awesome. So many great quotes "Whenever I step out on stage, you can start laughing." "Chelios missed the team meeting yesterday. Maybe he forgot. But seriously, he is an awesome guy, a man, a grandpa." And his answers to the Avery questions were great

Ragnarsson, Weinhandl and Mårtensson have no business being in the Olympic squad imo. Atleast not if there aren't a s***load of injuries and/or players declining their spot. Jönsson might be there, but there probably won't be room for Enström, although he'd be fun to see. A player that must be in the team though is Douglas Murray.

Looked good enough last game. And Franzen is also really good at it. What they don't do half as good as Homer though, is screening the goalie. Homer is the best in the league at it. I cringe everytime I see Cleary or Franzen standing slightly to the side of the goalie, giving him a clear view of the shot. But I wouldn't trust that rumor too much just yet.. it's still early on in his recovery and I think it's hard to predict how long it's going to take for him to get back. As for the game today, I feel like it's hat-trick time for Datsyuk. 4-2 WINgs, Lidstrom with the EN goal.
-
No question about it. Thomas' save wasn't even that good, the shot hit him and would probably not have gone in even if Thomas wasn't there. Luongo had some great saves this game as well, though none as spectacular as Kipper's.

Whats the site where I can find the stat for takeaways
dat's sick replied to ben_usmc's topic in General
Well, there is a lot more to playing D than just takeaways. For example Zetterberg generally has less takeaways than Datsyuk, but I still think Z is the better player defensively (not by very much, but still). Malkin is a very dynamic player though.. he can be very physical, ferocious on the forecheck and of course he has a lot of other talents. Easily the superiour player between him and Crosby. I still think he has a long way to go before he could be considered a good two-way forward though.. watching him play on the point during the Pens PP's is laughable sometimes.. so many giveaways that lead to breakaways or 2-on-1's. -
Yeah, that part made me do a double take as well. Lidstrom, Forsberg and Salming all rank above him in my opinion, for different reason.
-
You're disregarding the fact that even if the cap goes down a bit in the next few years, it will probably have gone up so much by the time Z is 38, that 6 mil won't be as big a hit as it is now.

First of all, no one but he knows how he feels and "I feel good" probably refers more to being in good shape physically than actually feeling good about losing the game and letting in pucks. Secondly, you really think all hockey players, or anyone in sports (hell, in the world), are completely 100% honest in every interview they do? Have you never heard players say things like "I love it here, right now I'm completely focused on staying here and helping this team" only to sign for another team the next week? "Why lie to people?", seriously? You make it sound like he's a politician who has made promises he hasn't kept. It's kinda like when reporters ask players after the game why they lost. They only talk in cliches and about how they, as a team, didn't fight hard enough or how they had bad luck or that the other team was simply better. If they always told the truth you'd constantly hear things like "Well, we were the better team but we had crappy goaltending" or "We would have won if [insert player name] had scored on his chances". Yes, some players put a lot of blame on themselves and simply say "I played bad, I need to be better", but that is often also a way of protecting his teammates by shouldering the blame himself. Henrik Lundqvist does this a lot. He lets in 3 or 4 pucks and he says he is the reason they lost, when everyone knows it often has more to do with the Rangers being completely useless offensively and not that great on defense either. Ozzie won't become better because he's dwelling on his mistakes and telling everyone how bad his confidence is and how terrible he is playing right now. Ever heard of "thinking positive"? I guess not since you seem to be a natural born pessimist.

Gary Bettman seems to be happy with his job as Cindy Crosby's Personal Assistant AKA Commissioner of the NHL, so I doubt that will happen.
-
Would be cool if Ozzie got his number retired. Hey, why not do it right now? Like at the next home-game?
-
"From: Montreal, Canada" ?

Exactly what I thought. Will be good for the Canadiens to get in a player with playoff experience.

The Maldini picture went down, but I rehosted. The guy in the suit is very much Steve.
