It was indeed epic how boring that period was. The 7 min stretch the Blues had on the PP probably did a lot to bolster their shot count. We didn't exactly play great though.

Would have been nice to see Ericsson as well.. maybe give Kronner a rest. Too bad about the injury. These lines will be interesting to see.

Of course, and it's not that I think he's been bad. He could easily replace Kopecky, or Maltby. I'd love for him to get more playtime. But I'm a big fan of Helm and if you have to send down either Abby or Leino to get him up, right now I'd rather see Leino get a little more time.

Man, the Wings have really dominated this season! Haha, they really haven't done much more than exactly what they've had to.

I really like this move. Abdelkader hasn't impressed me much, but Leino has done well enough to deserve to stay a while. I've been wanting to see Helm since almost day 1 of the season, but I understand all the reasons why that hasn't been a possibility. Hopefully he can bring some energy into the lineup, it was lacking to say the least yesterday.

Tonight we were lucky to have Hossa. And Ozzie played really good besides that one weird goal. Pavel had some exceptional shifts but made more mistakes than usual. Everyone else was either highly average or terrible. We didn't really deserve the win, but all that matters is that the losing streak was ended.. Oh, and I think this game showed once again that Pav and Hossa work much better together than Z and Hossa do. Put Z with Hudler and Franzen when he gets back.

What a shift by Datsyuk.. holy crap. We're going to OT..

Thank god we have the best face-off man ever out there on the PK, Kris Draper. Has he won a face-off today? 22 secs away from a huge kill. God damn it.

So probably no Z or Homer in this game either? We should still be able to win, but I don't think it will be an easy one. 3-2 Wings, goals by Sammy, Rafalski and Pavel.

Wouldn't he get really tired though? Best to just keep him on one line.

Are we running out of players to completely trash, so now we have to move on to the staff? Before we started getting injuries. things were looking better. Not perfect, but better. Give them/him a chance to turn this losing streak around. We just might emerge from this whole situation as a much stronger team. Besides, I seriously doubt anyone would fire the assistant coach in the middle of the season when the team is 2nd in the conference.

Yeah, I saw him saying something to Conks in the first period.. figured he was trash talking. I like Ovie, he's fun to watch, but I don't have half the respect for him that I have for guys like Pavel and Hank.

Yeah something is wrong with his confidence. I'm guessing he needs to hook up with a hot chick like Z has done. Kronner has enough potential to make him someone we don't want to lose.

I wasn't going to drink tonight, but after seeing the game I had to down lots of alcohol to make things feel better.. Not a terrible performance but I just don't see this team getting far in the playoffs- let's hope things look better when we get Z and Homer and Stuart back. Leino scored a nice goal, Abdelkader was ok, and I think we would be so much better off without Maltby, Draper and Kopecky. Conks let in one soft goal (3rd) but was otherwise really solid and showed he deserves to be our no.1. Datsyuk and most of all Hossa disappointed me a bit.. they didn't step up when they needed to.. I think Z is more important to this team than some seem to think. Especially on the PK. And holy crap I'm good at spelling even when drunk.

Finally an early game! Will be a difficult game this one without Z and Homer.. but I'll go with a 4-3 Wings win. Datsyuk, Hossa, Sammy and Leino.

I really wonder what you'd think if the Wings traded for a guy like Douglas Murray. Is he too european for you, or is the fact that he doesn't have a "weird" name enough for you to accept him? Let me guess, you didn't vote for Obama because, hey, that's not an american name. Why are you so hung up on the amount of players from one country, and amount from another? If a guy is good why should it matter where he comes from? Oh yeah, you can't "relate" to him. Because we swedes are so extremely different from you americans, we have completely opposing cultures, right? Hmm.. let's see.. we take our shoes off when we enter our homes, which you don't... and we... hmm.. we don't like Baseball.. and..we give eachother presents on christmas eve instead of christmas day... and...that's about it. Well, I can understand how you feel. Our weird and mystical customs must seem a world away from your american lifestyle. To continue with the soccer comparison, Arsenal, the british team who is widely regarded as one of the teams that play the most attractive and fun soccer, has barely any englishmen on it's roster. A lot of the time they have complete starting 11's without any brits. Guess what, the fans still love that team, despite them almost never winning anything. And you're complaining about a team that won the cup just last year. All I can agree with is that our 4th line has sucked this year. Incidentally that's also the line that has had the most NA-players on it (2). I'd love to see a guy like Downey on it, or Helm or even "Abdelkader" (what a genuinely american name that is). But other than that the team is not broken.. the problems we have, and the declining ratings, can't be brushed off as easily as saying "too many europeans".

Damn it, no Z, Homer and maybe Hudler on saturday.. will be a tough game against a strong Capitals team. This losing streak just might stretch even further.

Actually he has decided to play for Modo in the Swedish Elite League. His first game will most likely be on the 12th of February. He says his foot feels better than when he made the comeback last year, but still not 100%. This according to Aftonbladet.se . This will make the SEL more interesting..

You stay classy, Wings fans I didn't know it's the same guy who is making all these horrible calls against Detroit/Homer, but I seriously don't understand why they can't watch the replays and overrule the decision, like they're able to do in situations where it's uncertain if the puck went in or not. And the whole rule needs to be made clearer... I don't really understand how the goalie intereference rule works, and judging by total lack of consistancy in the GI calls, I don't think the refs do either.

I don't know about a rivalry against Chicago, so far it's been pretty one sided.. San Jose on the other hand has the potential to be a really good one, the last game against them was the most fun game this season imo.

I have to admit some of that was pretty damn funny I agree with Spinner though, someone has waaaay too much time on their hands. And the most humorous part about it is that it's a PENGUINS blog mocking the Wings for WHINING.
