Homer can't play forever, and I think we should keep Franzen with any means necessary since he is the next best thing. Very important for the PP to have a player like that in front of the goal.

Datsyuk vs. Zetterberg for the Selke is a difficult question. Datsyuk has the takeaway stat speaking for him, he is the best in the league at that. No player can destroy the opposition's break-out attempts better than him. I feel Zetterberg is a slightly better PK-man though. He not only defends extremely well on it, but he often creates chances the other way as well, something Datsyuk doesn't do quite as often. And Zetterberg is an incredible back-checker. Sometimes he will create a chance and be behind the opposition's goal when they counter-attack, and before you know it he is back in the defensive zone, steals the puck and goes right back the other way. They're both among the Top 5 or even Top 3 defensive forwards in the league though, and I'd like to see Zetterberg get it this year if only because Datsyuk got it last year. But with the way Datsyuk is playing this season, they can't ignore him completely come Awards-time. And since it's so hard (impossible) to win the Hart on this team, they might give him the Selke instead. If he keeps playing like this though, I actually think he should be nominated for the Hart. But I too feel that it might be a goalie's time to win it this year.

Damn these late games. Won't be staying up for this one. Will probably be another tight Wings-Ducks game. 3-2 Detroit I say.. maybe in OT. I hope Zetterberg gets rewarded for the way he's been playing lately and gets a goal or two. Datsyuk will most likely get one as well.

Top 3 of all time? He certainly has the qualities to become so.. his speed, shot, strenght etc. But he's such a stupid hockey player at the same time. I don't think he will ever be a really good two-way player. Just look at how many attacking opportunities he throws away because he just wants to shoot the puck all the time, no matter the angle or the situation. Sure, that's why he scores so many goals as well, and I guess that is the main job of a forward. He's one hell of an attacking machine. But compared to Datsyuk or even Zetterberg, he often feels extremely one-dimensional. They can mix it up, pass, shoot, deke etc. With Ovie it's always the same thing.. he goes in and takes a shot. I'd take Pasha over Ovie without question.

I can see a reason for not playing them together on the 5 on 5. They're both great in the face-off circle and having one as a winger would be a bit of a waste. I'd love to see them together on the 4 on 4 though, and I don't know why Babcock doesn't make that happen. And it would feel weird to go into the playoffs this year with the HDZ-line broken up.. they were so damn good last year.

I think I know a way to "fix" the 4th line. We switch Datsyuk and Draper, and rename the 4th line the 1st line. Like so: Maltby-Datsyuk-Kopecky Hossa-Hank-Cleary Hudler-Filppula-Sammy Homer-Draper-Franzen

I don't think things are looking all that bad actually. The defense is absolutely not looking completely solid, but it's not as terrible as it was a month ago, Dallas aren't getting a lot of quality chances. And we are creating chances once we get out of our own zone, someone just needs to capitalize on Hank's passes, or he needs to put it in himself. Because I feel like he's the one who will get it done tonight.
