Don't forget Backstrom, the guy is I think just outside the top 10 in the league in points, and he's a big reason why Ovie scores the amount of goals he does. Of course, Backstrom gets a lot of easy assists by passing the puck to Ovie who then takes the puck across the ice and scores all on his own. Ovie is a perfect candidate for the Hart though. The Caps wouldn't be anywhere near the position they have now without him.

I definitely think Hudler is underrated in the sense that if I were to say to a non-RW fan "man, Hudler is awesome right now!", they'd probably be like.. "..who?". And you can't really blame them, with all the quality we have in this team a guy like Hudler can easily be overlooked. I really, really hope we can keep him though. The way him and Filppula are playing together is really becoming a bit of our "secret weapon". You just don't expect a third line to have that kind of quality.

I don't know about Savard, is he really Hart material? I'm thinking Ovechkin will get that. And though Marleu is good, Datsyuk or even Hank are more deserving of the Selke imo.. Other than that I don't really disagree with your choices. If Detroit repeats I think it would be a disgrace to not give Coach of The Year to Babcock though. P.S. I also agree with the above poster that Datsyuk should be considered for the Hart, but I just don't think any Red Wing has a serious chance to win that one.

Woo! This one felt like it would go to a shoot-out for sure, with Miller playing the way he did and pucks bouncing over the RW-players when they had an open net etc. but I'm so impressed by how this team never stopped playing, never got frustrated and just kept on pressuring the Sabres further and further back. Also, these are the kind of games that a deep roster will win for you. When the first two lines can't get quite going (disregarding Hossa's late goal), the third steps up and scores two big goal. With three lines as good as these, one or more is bound to have a good night. And who else thinks Meech deserves way better than playing the odd game here and there? That guy looks like he could take a place in pretty much any team's defensive lineup.

Man, I'd love to see Helm get a decent chance. Everytime he's up he has great energy and speed. Kopecky has yet to show me anything that makes me feel he deserves his place on the team. As for the OP, the numbers lie a little bit this season, but lately the Wings have been playing great. If nothing unexpected happens (like serious injuries on multiple players), I definitely think they can finish the season with a 7 out 10 record.
