It's no doubt NOT charging. I don't even know how you can have that opinion.

Still, it's not like Detroit is the only team that has Overtime and Shootouts. And it's not like teams stop trying against Detroit after regulation. The Wings are excellent in regulation, and they have the calmness, experience and skill to excel in 4-on-4 OT and shootouts, this is not something that makes the streak less impressive. There have been a hundred rule-changes since 1930, or even since the 70's. Players have helmets, goalie's pads are bigger, no red-line offside, and so on and so on. A win is still a win, and if shootout makes it so easy to win games we should see more teams putting together long streaks. But we don't, because parity is making every single game difficult to win.

Maybe he didn't want to go to a division rival. I'm sure he still has a lot of heart for Columbus and Detroit is one of their biggest 'rivals'.

Salary is a real thing you know. If Nashville can't afford to keep both Suter and Weber, how would they afford adding Nash, even if they give up Suter? Apparantly Nash's short-list is Philly, Toronto, NYR, LA and Vancouver. Maybe I'm forgetting one or two teams and I'm not sure if this is 100% confirmed, but if it is, I see LA as the most logical option. Vancouver doesn't have any cap space, neither does the Rangers. It wouldn't make a lot of sense for Toronto whose major need is a 1st line Center. Philly? Well maybe in a blockbuster trade including Bryzgalov. But I'm really not sure that is something they should be doing.

As long as Kronner isn't hurting himself I like this new style he hits with. There really is not debate about whether his latest hits are clean or not. They're perfect, clean, beautiful hits. No headhunting, no elbows, no nothing. Just big, awesome hits.

If OT/SO made it easier to have a long winning streak, why has it been ages since anyone even came close to beating this record? A win is a win and you get them anyway you can, under the current rules of the league. When Boston got their 20 straight home wins the league was so incredibly different and had teams who were free wins. Same when Philly did it, the league was much less competetive. Boston did it when they had 10 minute OT as well I believe. Today no game is a free win, the parity has made long winning streaks very rare. But I hope Detroit can keep the streak going a little while longer just to silence the whiners and put it beyond any doubt that this is the best Home-streak in League history.

I saw them dropping off, but I have to admit I did not see them falling into this deep of a slump. They're not very good on the road, and when Toews and Hossa aren't carrying their offense they have no scoring. Crawford is not a reliable #1 goalie. I think a 1st round matchup against them would favor us heavily. Not only would we have home-ice advantage, but they have a similar team as we have except they have less scoring depth, weaker defense, and a worse goalie. They're not a team that should be underestimated as when they're on top of their game they are very good. But I think a series between us and them would end 4-1 to us.

Adam Larsson. Or Oliver Ekman-Larsson.
-
If they lose Suter at the trade deadline they won't look so hot. But I did mention Nashville as a team that can cause trouble in the West. Imo the West is very open this year and it will come down to who matches up better against who.
-
I would be cool with him being our backup the rest of the year. He's shown he can give us a chance to win games so we can let Jimmy be rested and ready for the playoffs. That also rids Holland of the problem of having to go out and get a backup, so he can focus completely on adding forward/defense-depth.
-
Rangers, Bruins or Pens in the East. Wings, Canucks or Blues in the West. But the West is more highly contested imo. Chicago, Nashville, San Jose and LA could all cause some trouble. I don't see teams like Ottawa, Florida, Toronto, New Jersey etc. making much noise.

Clutch goal by Franzen to win it! So glad we have him. At home, we can't be stopped. The rest of the league trembles at the thought of stepping feet in Joe Louis. GG team.
-
I like the hustle from the Wings in this 3rd period. Philly look really weak in their own zone, just keep up the forecheck on their D and this game is ours..
-
And now Detroit will try a bit, until they maybe tie up it again. f*** is it with this team lately, they play with NO effort when they're in the lead or if the game is tied. Only when they're behind do they give a s***.
-
Conner has no future here. Much rather see Mursak, Nyquist or Tatar.
-
I think I blacked out for a minute there. Back now.
-
With the amount of games Jimmy's playing when he's healthy, missing two weeks isn't gonna hurt his chances. Sounds like he'll be back this week. Although Lundqvist is definitely the front-runner.
-
Babcock, please.. change up the top 6 a bit. You're usually not afraid to mix with the lines and now the entire top 6 has been s*** all game. Datsyuk-Zetterberg-Bertuzzi Franzen-Filppula-Hudler Okay.
-
Yeah apart from Zetterberg lifting his game, nothing good can be said about the top 2 lines since the ASG. A shakeup is much needed.
-
Kinda seeing the same stuff we've been seeing from this team ever since the ASG. Playing just good enough to stay even with the other team. Maybe get a lead, then sit on it. Not doing anything more than the bare minimum. No real hustle. 10 seconds left in the period? Just float around, don't try to create one last chance. Driving the net? What's that? Looking forward to another shootout. Not. HUSTLE. It's Philadelphia. It's the chance to make history.
-
He is. Anyone perceiving a "anti-wings slant" tonight is hearing things.
-
I don't know, in the game I've been watching they've talked to Lidstrom, spent lots of time admiring Datsyuk, and just plain talked a ton about the Wings.
-
Yeah the only thing comforting me is that this time of year is usually when the Wings go through their "slump", and as long as they can still keep winning at home and getting some points on the road we'll be fine for when they pick it up again come March.
-
Down to the Griffins? Just grab a rifle and take him out back.
-
Too bad our PP is completely unable to do anything for us. Not liking that our home-streak comes down to a coin-toss again. Oh well, hope they can pull it off for Joey's sake.
