2009, 2nd round, Ducks. That series was insane, playoff hockey at it's best.

Fleischmann has blossomed?? Really? More so than Filppula or even Hudler? Okay.. and Kopecky? Don't make me laugh, most Chicago fans hate him just as much as we did. Having Scotty here wouldn't have meant Ericsson would be playing like the new Lidstrom right now. Kindl has been good for the most part and shows potential, give him a year or two. Lack of toughness and grit 2 out of the last 3 years? Hell, 2 out of the last 3 years we were in the SCF! Last year was a down year sure, we ONLY made it to the 2nd round, which obviously means the Wings are going downhill..if only Scotty was here to make the salary cap disappear, just like he's doing for the Hawks who can still miss the playoffs..

Thomas will win it, but I think it's worth pointing out that he "only" played 57 games. You have goalies like Lundqvist, Price and Rinne who all have great stats while being relied upon much more by their team. I think any of those 4 would be worthy winners, and hell you could make a good case for Luongo as well. Lundqvist is easily the most important to his team though. And 2 years ago he was close to stealing the 1st round against the Caps. It could very well happen this year. I'm not really sure what to think about the Caps however.. we're about to find out whether Bodreau is a genius or an idiot. I've been going back and forth on that matter this season. I think in the end it could come down to the goalies, and I don't see Lundy being outplayed by Varly, Holtby, and whatever other goalies the Caps have. Rags in 7.

haha "thanks" I'm not sure if I was in from the beginning last year.. seem to remember jumping in after some weeks. Or maybe I just sucked haha.. This year I've mostly been solid, not many top scores but also only been below 10 once. This week was great for me though.. while making the selections I thought I'd either end up at the bottom of the list or at the top, and luckily it turned out to be the latter

I became a fan in 94 I believe. I was 7. It's been good to be a Red Wings fan. Even though a good regular season doesn't make 1st round exits or SCF Game 7 losses easier..

Between Z, Dats and Lids it's very close. But Dats has missed a few too many games. And our defense has been pretty bad, I think even Lids has been less than amazing defensively on many nights which his +/- indicates. Z however has been carrying a heavy burden when Pav has been out, and most of the time he has done a great job. So I voted for Z. Even though I think Pavel has been our best player, when he has been able to play.

Why would they? They've only locked the President's Trophy up, they've got a lot to play for...

Eh, he was doing a bit too many no-look passes yesterday and they didn't always work, but it's not an "issue". Telling Pavel Datsyuk to simplify his game is like telling Picasso that he should simplify his paintings. Or something...

In the end it's Crosby and not his family who will decide, and I doubt very much he even considers retiring already. Sure, he's accomplished pretty much everything and is probably crazy rich, but say what you will about him; the guy loves hockey and won't just give it up because his mom is freaking out over an injury. He'll be back, I just don't expect it to be this season.
