Ever heard the expression "salary dump"? Look it up. A salary for salary deal needs to be atleast somewhat even in terms of return. Lebda and Meech have close to NO value, we would have to package them with someone a lot more interesting for anyone to take them.

What can we get for a 7th round pick that helps this team? Guys like Maltby go for a 7th round pick.

THIS is what is wrong with fans like you. You don't care so much about the team actually getting better as you care about there being headlines and very, very short term "excitement". And still: picking up Hossa last year wasn't exciting? Losing a ton of players and bringing in many new ones this year hasn't been enough of a "shake up" for you? Trades for the sake of trading is NOT the way Holland operates. And it has worked pretty damn well the last 15 years. If there is a deal to be made, I'm sure Holland will do it. But we have very, very few players that we can move and get something in return that makes our TEAM better.

For the most part, a good game by the Wings. Pavel and Mule looked insane, sooooo good. Gives me confidence going forward. We need to make something happen on the 2nd and 3rd lines though. We'll see if Holland has anything planned. This was the start we needed for our run to the playoffs. I wish, I wish, I wish that this is the beginning of a win streak.

Bert is the problem on that line. Not Cleary.

But then we have Poop-Poop-Poop as a 3rd line. I know you want Fil in the top 6 but I'm not sure that's in the best interest of this team right now.

Cleary-ZHank-Franzen is a good 1st line... it's a tought decision though. Pav's line looks awesome right now. But any line with Bert on it will look terribad.

Zetterberg needs to have atleast ONE guy with some kind of skill and hockey sense on his line. Franzen, Datsyuk, Holmstrom, Filppula.. one of those guys need to be on his line. Imo, put Bert with Pav and Mule with Z. Gives us better balance.

Ahhh, good old NHL hockey. Bad calls and silly Filppula debates on LGW. It's like an abusive husband that you want to leave, but you can't because the good moments are SO GOOD.

It was like until that waved off 3-0 goal, the Wings thought things could be different after the olympic break. like they could once again be that dominant team that just keeps coming and doesn't let up. then that horrible call woke them up, making them realize that NO, the league won't let us win, we'll have to keep working uphill. And now they look like s*** again.

Haven't you heard? The players have no idea of the actual score during games. They never know that they have a lead and need to hold on to it. If they become passive, it's because the coach tells them to stop playing and just hang back. It's NEVER actually the players themselves that start playing safe because they know they have a lead. No, that doesn't happen.
