Unbelievably awesome. Whenever I think about what I would do if I was rich, something like that comes to mind. The "shack" is so great.. that table made out of hockey-sticks! I want one.

Everyone but Babcock and Rafalski should be decently rested and ready to go. Feels weird to be back to NHL hockey. But in a way the Wings are in an elimination tournament right from the get go. We can't lose many games.

I was wondering if they would get any credit. When Canada lost to the US they sure got a lot of s***, both around here and elsewhere. Then when they win gold it's all about Crosby, Toews, Doughty, Luongo etc. Babcock finds success wherever he coaches. He's won it all. Yzerman picked a well-balanced team. Not selecting Mike Green was probably the greatest roster decision he made. He would have done nothing but f*** up chemistry, pinched at the wrong times and been exposed defensively. I actually wanted Canada to win it after Sweden had been knocked out. I like Babcock, Yzerman and Holland more than I hate the plentiful douchebags on the canadian team.

All of the cross-country skiing stuff (the heart of the winter olympics imo), curling, men's hockey, downhill skiing, maybe snowboard half-pipe. Of course I watch the occasional small event like Moguls or snowboard cross, they can be fun but I don't value them very highly... I've never met anyone who cares about Skeleton or Bobsled. Ice Dance is a sport? Hm. A gold is a gold but I wouldn't brag about many of these golds.. do you people care about those sports when it's not olympics? edit: forgot biathlon of course. that is super-fun.

No disrespect but aside from Curling and Men's Hockey those are some lame sports to get gold in. Good for Canada I guess, but Ice-Dance? Skeleton? Ski Cross? Long-Track Team Pursuit? Maybe it's just me but these events are not exactly ones I'd miss if they were excluded from future winter olympics. And women's hockey is probably the least competitive event of the olympics.

Journalists submit their choices in the intermission between the 2nd and 3rd period of the final. Miller was the obvious choice. No other player in the tournament really came close to being as important as him.

Gotta agree. It was refreshing not having a game decided entirely on the PP.

What? Curling is not only the 2nd best thing about the Winter olympics, but Sweden also beat Canada in the women's curling final. However, Women's hockey shouldn't be in the Olympics that's a free gold for canada. And I'm not sure exactly where canada got most of their golds, but I feel like all the different snowboard events have been very dominated by canada and the US. there are constantly these new sports being added to the olympics, making it easier and easier to get a high medal count, especially for the big countries like US and Canada.

Crosby was one of the worst players on Canada in the game. Kudos for stepping up in OT, but it was 4-on-4 which is very beneficial for a guy like him.

He was selected for the all-star team atleast. He was great this tournament. Unlike Crosby, Toews actually comes close to living up to the legacy of guys like Yzerman and Sakic. Really like him, shame he is "paired up" with Kane on the Hawks.

Does Babcock get paid for coaching Canada in the Olympics?

If you're counting actual games isn't he exactly .500? Lost two Game 7's and won 4-2 in the other final. Lost 10 games and won 10 games total in the SCF.

Filppula getting some cred in swedish television. Honestly I think Fil is doing us proud despite Finland's performance. Just like Pavel in Russia's collapse, Fil keeps working and showing that unlike many others he knows what defense is. Also, Kane is a BEAST this game. Haven't been impressed with him earlier in the tournament but today he is sick.

What would have been cool is if Sweden had beat Slovakia and we had gotten a Sweden-Finland Bronze game and Canada-US Gold game. Or you know, the other way around. Really don't like the idea of seeing Slovakia in two more games this tournament.

It would be nice if Filppula could get a goal atleast.

Look, I didn't love how Sweden played. But Finland has completely failed in every way possible. Sweden still dominated the game, and guys like Forsberg, Zetterberg, the Sedins etc. showed passion, pride and energy to me. No one in Finland has come to play. USA is better than Slovakia but there is still no comparison.
