How is Rafalski +16? Seems like he's always taking s*** from everyone on here.

    Datsyuk Placed on IR

Modano's bonuses are... $150,000 for playing in 40 games $100,000 for playing in 55 games $125,000 for Round 1 playoff win $125,000 for Round 2 playoff win So there's still a chance that he'll play in 40 games and we all hope he gets the last 2 bonuses.

    Datsyuk Placed on IR

They put him on short term IR not LTIR. Short term is 7 days and opens a roster spot but doesn't give cap relief. So they just did it to give a roster spot for Macdonald, knowing Datsyuk won't be back within 7 days.

Please sit Miller so Tatar can play.

    World Juniors

Jarnkrok looks like a perfect fit for the Wings. The puck seems to follow him around and he's really good at hanging onto it and not giving it away.

Is he that small? I wouldn't say he's big, but he certainly doesn't look small to me.

    Penalties drawn vs Penalties taken?

ya, you're right, it's based off individual ice time. Every penalty stat I've seen is based on per 60 minutes, so I think you're outta luck unless you've got some free time on your hands for the next couple weeks.

    Penalties drawn vs Penalties taken?

Can't you just multiply by the number of games he's played? or is it penalties drawn per 60 min of ice time?

LOL, you must have been listening to that Canadian bias on TSN. Go to 45 sec on this video...how is that not a shot to the jaw? They made the right call, 5 and a game.

Pierre is a moron, that's clearly a shot to the jaw. He keeps saying there was no head contact- bs watch the ******* replay you idiot.

    Mursak Expectations

I wouldn't be shocked to see him put up 50 points in the NHL, but I'm not going to expect it. It's his third year in the AHL and he's almost 23 and really hasn't put up big numbers down there. The only one in GR that I expect big things from is Tatar. He just turned 20, leads the team in points and is top 10 in the AHL in +/-.

    Mursak Expectations

I would just like to see that he can play in the NHL, so I'm not putting any expectations on point totals. From what I've seen from him, I'd be surprised if he turned into a 50-60 point guy. I'm thinking more of a 20-40 point 3rd/4th liner.

I'm calling a birthday goal for the Mule. We're going to need him in playoff form with Dats out.

Datsyuk out 4-5 weeks with broken bone in hand

So does this mean there's a chance they call someone up. I'd like to see Mursak, Emmerton, Filppula, or Tatar get some time in the NHL so we know what we have for next year.

12/19 GDT: Stars 4 at Red Wings 3 (OT)

Wings get a point to stay up by a point and have the game in hand, not Dallas.

    Carl Hagelin

I really like watching Hagelin at UM. He has great speed and can handle the puck. I read that the Rangers might not sign him possibly because both sides aren't happy with each other. I also saw a quote from a scout that said he wouldn't be surprised if the Wings signed him, so probably just a rumor right now but if the Rangers don't sign him then I would love to see the Wings get him.

    Tomas Kopecky

He's still terrible. He can't stay on his skates if he's touched and makes some bad decisions with the puck. I think any player can run into a few points when playing on the top 2 lines and getting power play time, but it doesn't mean he's a good player or that he's the one producing those points.
  19. hockey23

Datsyuk, Crosby. On a level of their own.

If you gave Datsyuk Crosby's ice time, he would have 46 points this year - only 5 back of Crosby.

    ¼ Grades

Hard to imagine that you had higher expectations for Ericsson considering how he played last year. I would give him an A- this year. The only thing lacking is offensive production which isn't really his role right now.

    Flames Fans Blame Refs

Most of that thread is just bitching about the number of penalties. They don't actually make a case for which penalties shouldn't have been called and why they shouldn't have been called. Here's what I saw... 1. Regehr-obvious interference on Fil, never touched the puck 2. Jackman- obvious board/interference on Abdelkader 3. Giordano- weak hold, but they're called every night 4. Hagman- obvious hold on Cleary 5. Backlund- roughing coincidental with Abs 6. Sarich- hook, stick in the hands-called every night 7. Hagman- didnt see the replay, maybe a makeup call 8. Stajan- obvious hold, dumb penalty 9. Bouwmeester- decked Abs in front w/o the puck 10. Iginla- unsportsmanlike for dropping the gloves I don't really see a bad call here outside of the Hagman slash which I didn't see. If your team plays dumb and takes penalties then they're going to get called. It's like the Flames fans think once a few penalties are called against them the refs should stop calling them.

Ericsson with a +2 tonight. Now +5 in 8 games played this season. He's looking very solid defensively and made some nice passes as well tonight.
  23. Wings Welcome new partnerships I hate those LED signs on the boards and the ads on the glass on FSD.

    11/14 GDT

I'm watching it on NHL Network but here's a stream...http://veetle.com/index.php/channel/view#4cd84819dfd10 My comment was about Keith being the last guy back and getting his pocket picked, which led to Perry walking in on a breakaway and scoring.
