Link or Source? You seem like you know what you're talking about but I didn't see this anywhere.

uhh...one game from stanley cup to second round exit. Big difference to me. The Hawks will survive but they will be reduced to a core instead of having incredible forward depth.
-
Want to explain how that would possibly fit under the cap? I get about $3 mil over using that roster plus a 13th forward and 7th d man. And I still laugh every time I see Kopecky in the top 6. What does this tell me? That they would still need to sign 2 players and add in the $4 mil in bonuses? I'm not sure if you're trying to tell me that they're in trouble or you think this would work. Also, those are low cap hits for Ladd, Niemi, and Hjalmarsson.
-
Niemi won't take a cheaper 1 yr deal. Players either want a long term or a high salary. No way Chicago can get him to take a short term and a small salary. That website shows the no Ladd, Versteeg, and Huet scenario, and gives about $1.1 mil in space with a $55.4 cap and they still need to sign another defenseman and 2 forwards. That's not possible. The Hawks are just getting started. More players will have to go.

Here's what I get... AUTO-GENERATED CAPGEEK.COM LINES FORWARDS Jonathan Toews ($6.300m) / Patrick Kane ($6.300m) / Marian Hossa ($5.275m) Patrick Sharp ($3.900m) / Dave Bolland ($3.375m) / Tomas Kopecky ($1.200m) Kyle Beach ($1.171m) / Marty Reasoner ($1.150m) / Troy Brouwer ($1.025m) Jeremy Morin ($0.978m) / Ben Smith ($0.812m) / Marcus Kruger ($0.735m) Mathis Olimb ($0.600m) DEFENSEMEN Brian Campbell ($7.143m) / Duncan Keith ($5.538m) Brent Seabrook ($3.500m) / * Niklas Hjalmarsson ($3.000m) Ryan Stanton ($0.897m) / Brian Connelly ($0.875m) Simon Danis-Pepin ($0.850m) GOALTENDERS * Antti Niemi ($3.000m) / Corey Crawford ($0.800m) CAPGEEK.COM TOTALS (no bonus cushion is used in these calculations) ROSTER: 22; CAP: $55.4m; PAYROLL: $58.425m; CAP ROOM: $-3.025m This is without Versteeg, Ladd, and Huet. I guess they could try to sign a bunch of $500k players to save a few million, but their back is still against the wall.

wow...time to watch the tigers and flip back to catch who wins. This is worse than i thought
-
What about the $4 mil in bonuses from last year?
-
I think you're off. I get $2 mil under after the $4 mil in bonuses and adding in Reasoner.
-
Kirill Kabanov please
-
Watch it again because what I see is Ericsson staying in front of the net and then picking up the defenceman pinching down. Helm had Doan and then curled off and let him walk to the net.

AUTO-GENERATED CAPGEEK.COM LINES FORWARDS Pavel Datsyuk ($6.700m) / Henrik Zetterberg ($6.083m) / Johan Franzen ($3.955m) Valtteri Filppula ($3.000m) / Jiri Hudler ($2.875m) / Daniel Cleary ($2.800m) * Todd Bertuzzi ($1.938m) / Tomas Holmstrom ($1.875m) / Kris Draper ($1.583m) * Darren Helm ($1.000m) / * Justin Abdelkader ($0.850m) / Mattias Ritola ($0.517m) DEFENSEMEN Nicklas Lidstrom ($6.200m) / Brian Rafalski ($6.000m) Brad Stuart ($3.750m) / Niklas Kronwall ($3.000m) Jonathan Ericsson ($0.900m) / Jakub Kindl ($0.883m) GOALTENDERS Chris Osgood ($1.417m) / Jimmy Howard ($0.717m) CAPGEEK.COM TOTALS (these totals are compiled using the bonus cushion) ROSTER: 20; CAP: $58.8m; PAYROLL: $56.043m; CAP ROOM: $2.757m BONUSES: $0.000m This leaves 2.75 to sign a forward and a d man. I say let Miller, Eaves, and Meech walk, sign Lilja/UFA for 750k then spend the rest on a 3rd line winger.

Anyone else see this. from Greg Wyshynski's twitter

Please explain how the Hawks will only lose Versteeg, Ladd, and Sopel. Here's what I get when taking those guys out and filling the rest of the roster out with cheap players...(cap at 57.5 for Toews' bonus) AUTO-GENERATED CAPGEEK.COM LINES FORWARDS Jonathan Toews ($6.300m) / Patrick Kane ($6.300m) / Marian Hossa ($5.275m) Patrick Sharp ($3.900m) / Dave Bolland ($3.375m) / Dustin Byfuglien ($3.000m) * Jack Skille ($1.275m) / Tomas Kopecky ($1.200m) / Troy Brouwer ($1.025m) * Ben Eager ($0.965m) / * Adam Burish ($0.712m) / * Colin Fraser ($0.700m) * Bryan Bickell ($0.500m) DEFENSEMEN Brian Campbell ($7.143m) / Duncan Keith ($5.538m) Brent Seabrook ($3.500m) / * Niklas Hjalmarsson ($2.643m) Ryan Stanton ($0.897m) / Brian Connelly ($0.875m) Simon Danis-Pepin ($0.850m) GOALTENDERS Cristobal Huet ($5.625m) / * Antti Niemi ($2.826m) CAPGEEK.COM TOTALS (these totals are compiled using the bonus cushion) ROSTER: 22; CAP: $57.5m; PAYROLL: $64.425m; CAP ROOM: $-6.057m BONUSES: $0.868m

Toews: Most undeserving Conn Smyth winner in history?
hockey23 replied to blues_demitra38's topic in General
For as much credit as he gets for being a two way forward, it's hard to believe he had a minus rating in the playoffs. -
ya Rafalski plays no defense, he's only16th in the league and 1st on the Wings with a +23
-
Any news on if Teemu's going to hang em up or come back? I would love to see the wings get him for a year. he had 48 pts in only 54 games and still looks like he's got a few more years in him. His cap hit last year was $2.6 but his salary was only $2 mil. Maybe the wings could get him for around $2.5? AUTO-GENERATED CAPGEEK.COM LINES FORWARDS Pavel Datsyuk ($6.700m) / Henrik Zetterberg ($6.083m) / Johan Franzen ($3.955m) Valtteri Filppula ($3.000m) / Jiri Hudler ($2.875m) / Daniel Cleary ($2.800m) * Teemu Selanne ($2.500m) / * Todd Bertuzzi ($2.000m) / * Tomas Holmstrom ($2.000m) Kris Draper ($1.583m) / * Darren Helm ($1.000m) / * Justin Abdelkader ($0.750m) Mattias Ritola ($0.517m) DEFENSEMEN Brian Rafalski ($6.000m) / * Nicklas Lidstrom ($4.500m) Brad Stuart ($3.750m) / Niklas Kronwall ($3.000m) Jonathan Ericsson ($0.900m) / Jakub Kindl ($0.883m) * Andreas Lilja ($0.750m) GOALTENDERS Chris Osgood ($1.417m) / Jimmy Howard ($0.717m) CAPGEEK.COM TOTALS ROSTER: 22; PAYROLL: $57.680m; CAP ROOM: $0.020m BONUSES: $0.000m

from the rulebook... I know they called it boarding but this perfectly describes what Hossa did. He should have been gone. No excuse for Nashville though, how do your two best defensemen leave two guys in front of the net with 10 seconds left
-
What about Lang and Schneider? Are they injured or just being benched?
-
I remember a website that gave the most recent lines for each team but can't find one that's updated and accurate. Anyone know of a good one?
-
that's the one, thanks
-
I don't know if this has been talked about at all, but I was just wondering. Hudler's team is down 2-0 in a best of five playoff series so he could be done soon. Since there isn't a cap in playoffs, is it possible for him to come back or is there something that wouldn't aloow him to?
-
Who would these players be for the wings? Filppula-Bergfors Stuart-Oduya Nestrasil-Cormier Don't know much about the bergfors, oduya, and cormier but is this comparable?
-
I'm 100% sure those won't be the lines... AUTO-GENERATED CAPGEEK.COM LINES FORWARDS Pavel Datsyuk ($6.700m) / Henrik Zetterberg ($6.083m) / Johan Franzen ($3.955m) Valtteri Filppula ($3.000m) / Daniel Cleary ($2.800m) / * Tomas Holmstrom ($2.250m) Kris Draper ($1.583m) / * Jason Williams ($1.500m) / * Todd Bertuzzi ($1.500m) * Kirk Maltby ($0.883m) / * Darren Helm ($0.599m) / * Drew Miller ($0.525m) * Patrick Eaves ($0.500m) DEFENSEMEN * Nicklas Lidstrom ($7.450m) / Brian Rafalski ($6.000m) Brad Stuart ($3.750m) / Niklas Kronwall ($3.000m) * Andreas Lilja ($1.250m) / Jonathan Ericsson ($0.900m) * Derek Meech ($0.483m) GOALTENDERS Chris Osgood ($1.417m) / Jimmy Howard ($0.717m) CAPGEEK.COM TOTALS ROSTER: 22; PAYROLL: $56.845m; CAP ROOM: $-0.045m BONUSES: $0.000m

Don't know if this is posted anywhere, but did anyone hear Ken Daniels talking about Franzen coming back Feb. 9?
-
With Homer returning Sunday, who's the odd man out?
hockey23 replied to WMUCarGuy's topic in General
No one has to leave when Homer gets back. Once Franzen comes back (maybe Feb. 9 per Ken Daniels/Babcock?) moves will have to be made. My guess is that Leino and May are gone.
