if sundin really does sign with detroit I will have to snack on crow as I've been saying for months that Sundin wouldnt be wearing a wheel with wings on it come 2008 - 2009 season
-
won't even get close enough to even sniff a stanley, let alone win one probably more accurate I knew of Sundin and followed him since nearly his rookie season. The only ones who ever brought the Nucks close to a stanley - in fact they got to sniff it but not win it - was Bure, Linden, Mogilny, and the like and after Bure and them left/were traded Vancouver was never the same then and never hardly got to sniff being close to the SCF again after that Sundin spent some years with the Nords and then all this time with Toronto and he couldnt do what said guys did with the Nucks If he couldnt do it with the Nords or the Leafs...... but I know its all just rumor so far but even still. holy cow Batman.

Thanks Drupha. I guess for the two wings fans at that point it was the wrong time to ask for his john henry cause it was like an hour before game time and he was like, getting ready to play. I am sure stevie is a good person classy but I know theres a right time to ask for an autograph and a wrong time. so an auto pen looks like a real autograph, like a real pen wrote on it and stuff? just wondering cause when i met Guy LaFleur back in like 1999 and got two his john henry on cards the ink shines differently with a different shine than the card does. Same with the other ones I have. The ink just shines differently. Just wondered if the autopen looks like that. Dont blame Fedorov maybe like if he got one though. IN the '90's he was a very popular player and i guess didnt have time to sign all of them autographs he was probably asked for. -

I think I'll write to Holmstrom though. I also picked out a card to ask him for his autograph. Its a card I dont mind if it gets lost or anything cause I can get more but that card has a great shot of him working in his office that way I would let him know that I know what one of his most important jobs as a wing is. I thought he might appreciate it. I'll see what happens anyway. I'm going to even be nice and send a self addressed stamped envelope I know hockey players are busy busy people. So I'll even be kind. of course its a no brainer for me that I dont write players during the summer. Let them enjoy summer without being bothered by fans is what I think. Drupha might be right, of course I wouldnt know, I've never written to a wing before But you know the old saying "Never venture, never win" if you dont try at all you'll never gain anything. -

Thank you very much Princess. I'll write a letter anyway and send a card I dont mind if I dont happen to get it back cause I can get lots of cards and see what happens I've never written to a wings player before I mean a fan letter or asked for an autograph like I said but I did send get well cards to Konstantinov and Mnatsakanov (though he was never a red wings player per se but part of the wings) in 1997 when they got injured never got any response from anyone but then I didnt expect anything. I gave something to them and didnt expect anything in return. I wanted to make them feel better. I wrote to them and addressed it "C/O Detroit Red Wings" and the 600 Civic Center address thingy obviously they couldnt read it themselves at the time I sent them both of them were in a coma. -

what's auto penning? is it something like autograph forgery or counterfeiting an autograph? -
yea I noticed the russian/european hockey philosophy differs from that of us north americans - they have the belief in there's no big hurry to get the puck out on the ice - and often they join the nhl it seems on a bit average later. in north america its like they wanna see kids pushing a puck as soon as possible so they can score. thats why u see like 18 year old North american rookie in the nhl and like european/russia 23 year old rookies.

Thats a good question. Its been in my mind ever since the other poster said his/her letter to Fedorov got returned. I've never written to a red wings player ever. Tbh. But I want to. So forgive my innocence because I dont know correct address. I have only the 600 civic center address thingy but dunno if its the right one if you wanna write to a red wing. could anyone tell us , myself and Zata40, please? -
Best Wishes, Pasha. btw He's almost exactly my age ! I'll be 30 in about another week and a half.

Favourite Players From Each Hockey Nation

particular btw I studied Russian language / history at universityfor years the reason most of these people identify themself with russia now is probably because they grew up having to identify themselves as nationality soviet (and not for example ukrainian or Khazakhstan or Georgian) since the soviet governments disapproved of nationalistic movements and tendencies its still in their minds I suppose -

do they have to be currently active or can they be former players who are retired now? That wasnt made clear in the topic starter's post Canada - k my all time fave from here is Mario Lemieux who is of course now retired Sweden - Tomas Holmström I'll just say the place formerly known as Czechoslovakia just to make it simple cause I'll be darned if I know who's czech republic now and who is slovakian - Dominic Hasek United States - Brett Hull Russia - Pavel Bure Finland - Saku Koivu -
what the crap, I still missed a red wing. Only named 9. oh well. I'll stick Hasek in there for him causing a sensation with his unique playing style hes kind of contraversial and then he led the wings to the 2002 stanley cup. He's been an influence no doubt.

Here's my top ten of red wings who've I think had the most influence over the past two decades (and in the case of Stevie going back to the '80's) Yzerman Lidstrom Fedorov Konstantinov Holmstrom Osgood Draper Zetterberg Datsyuk
-
k that was funny

Who Wears the "C" after Lidstrom

at least hossa didnt pick number 87 gawd Hoover. that number will leave a bad taste in my mouth evertime i see/hear/read it btw I said Hoover - that was the biggest dam I could think of.
-
lmao, I might call that one a playcuz it was like a premonition a foreshadowing of like who was gonna win the cup
-
Hah. Holmstrom's a no -brainer. Anyone who knows anything about him will know there is no way in this world or the next or even in some other galaxy out there which may or may not exist - lol - anyone will ever even think of Holmstrom and selke trophy being mentioned in the same breath or in the same sentence.
-
in no particular order: Pavel Datsyuk going after a Penguin that was roughing ,it up with a wing (i think it was gary roberts but I'm kind of hazyon that one) Just remembered it cause I was surprised the little russian had it in him lol he can be a little ball of fiery russian fury when he wants to be. My fellow Newfoundlander, Cleary, filling in for my boy Homer when he got injured by Hal Gill and missed game 5 cleary made a great screen in that game which resulted in a wing goal or two My player # 96 coming back in game 6 and making the screen very early in the game , resulting in the red wings striking quickly with Rafalski's goal The last wings goal in said game where fleury pushed it in with it under his butt I rofl at that one hehe ah yes Zetty killing off a long 5 on 3 penalty half of that practically by himself, who can forget that? He was a bloomin' hero.
-
i already have a Holmstrom jersey I bought some weeks ago and I wear it all the time hehe so i guess my others in order would be dats, zetty, Cleary, Franzen, Liddy, Rafalski and um...yea. those are my biggest faves on the wings i like them all but those are my faves but sorry no hossa I wouldnt get a hossa i dont really care for him maybe later i might consider caring but i still wont buy his jersey.

Flyers and a good many of their damn fans. cuz theyre still dirty and a good deal of their fans are just as bad if not worse. Boston cause they're well - boston. toronto because they 'll never stop bein in favor of tryin to fillin the seats in their damn arena and start makin playoff and cup contenders. Pittsburgh because of well see above. Ill leave out fleury though because Idk if hes cocky so I reserve judgement on him and hossa cuz I can understand how the fans felt when he dumped them cuz they didnt win the cup in favor of the team who did.
