STK : I know how you feel and I know why you feel this way. And i've said so very often on both the wings official board and the pens official board. In fact I stood up for you when people were going "haha your conference sucks and the west is best" and I said Honest to God, I do not think pens fans need this right now. They've been hurt. There is a time and a place for this "your conference sucks" bit. you had a nice little team that made it to the SC finals for the first time in 16 years. a good accomplishment. Now your team had split, so many leaving. and two came to our team. One who I can certainly see why it is like a stab in the back for you. and he does seem two faced. Does he really like us, or is he here just to win a cup? We will see. I just wanted to post here to let you know I know exactly why you guys feel this way. At least you have a something to smile about. Marc - Andre has signed with you for 7 years. He loves you. Take happiness in that and concentrate on those who do love you and try not to let Hossa get to you. because for all we know he might stab us in the back if we failt to win the cup again next year. (hey it could happen.)

I'd do what my fellow Newfoundlander, Cleary did. He had only 48 hours him and Stanley and he with Stanley chose to spend and give his and stanley's time with us, the people of Newfoundland and Labrador. Thats what I'd do. Share it with everyone. all the people.

My moment in the sun. Here I am with North America's oldest trophy competed for by professional athletes. How proud I am to be with the Cup. I waited in line for over two hours for this moment. I was so proud and happy. Just before I left, I bent over and kissed the Cup. But I did not get a picture of that.

Danny Cleary went in here after the parade to meet with some minor leaguers and show off the Stanley Cup.

was at the st johns international airport on monday to greet the cup and danny as he met the cup and carried it downstairs....then stayed until he left for the janeway...then i was at harbor grace on tuesday and got pictures of everything yes i got my pic taken with Stanley - it was still amazing - even after this being my third time having my pic taken with the cup (my other times were 1993 and 2002) I'll post a couple of the pics I took of danny and the cup and myself with the cup. hang on. well today June 30th, Danny Cleary came home to us with the Stanley Cup. I went there to airport to see him and the Cup's first touchdown on Newfoundland soil. I'd like to tell you about it...and some of you PM'ed me and wanted to see pics My mother drove me to the airport. When we got there there was this revolving door that you had to walk with it at just the right speed to get inside and if you didnt it would do one of two things: Either it would smack you in the back, or you would wind up walking around in a circle til you could find the way in. LOL. Mom told me she would have cracked up if that had happened to me...luckily it didnt xD We went to get tea. at the tim horton's there were all the staff with Thank you danny t shirts on. I actually took one look at them and burst out laughing. Why? Newfoundland patriotism is pretty big here and many people root for someone just cause - itsa Newfoundlander for god's sake ! But most times these homers dont have a clue about anything. So I was laughing at them thinking yea they like danny cleary cause he's 'one of us' but they probably wouldnt know a puck from a *cough* clears throat *cough* homers are funny cause in my experience most of the time they know nothing especially Newfoundland homers. So we get up there where Danny will be coming down the steps with said Stanley and I find myself beside this lady. My suspicions about homers being hilarious were confirsmed when i spoke to her and I asked her she a wings fan. and she said oh yes hard core and tole me her fave player was zetterberg. She asked me mine and I showed her my 96. LOL - she never had a clue what player # 96 belonged to - she had to take a look at my back to see. Now any reall hard core wings fan would know # 96 cause he's been famous detroit for more than ten years. I couldnt help but laugh. You'd think a real hard core wings fan would know that - she didnt. Unless she was very new to the wings - very new. I doubt that though. Then we saw danny. Danny meets the Stanley Cup as it arrives at St John's International airport and brings it down stairs to show all of us He got down over the steps and the music was playing "We are the Champions" by Queen and he held the cup high for us to see. Itm was so beautiful - as I already described to you. Danny here makes a short speech to us, the crowd in the airport In this speech he talked about how much it was of a real honor to bring the cup here as the first Newfoundlander to win it. He also thanked all the fans for their support and dedications. After finishing his speech to us, here he is speaking to the reporters. A closeup of danny speaking to the reporters....this time with his smile lol After Danny finished with the reporters, a young blind man presented him with a framed picture of himself at the Igloo......just after the wings had won the cup. He had earlier said he hadnt actually watched any of the footage from that. I was like, What? He never watched any of it? The blind man actually got a chance to touch the cup .....so in a way he could see the cup through touch....because touch is often highly developed in people with visual disabilities. A closeup of the Cup I managed to get as Danny was carrying it to the exit to leave to go to the Janeway (Children's hospital) told you the Cup glows xD All of these pics were taken by me except the one of me and Cabby of course. That was was taken by my mother. I actually found it hard to get pics though....kind of hard when you're 5 foot 2 and you're surrounded by dozens of 6 foot people....its one of the few times in my life I've actually cursed my height. Dannjy wished to save this day for visiting the sick children at the janeway - that of course was not open to the public. And we respected that. He later said he thought about his own daughter and he loves children and wanted to take it to the janeway - to the sick ones, some of whome may be dying and will not get that opportunity. It was very nice of Danny to do this. He is quite the person. The Cup and Dannyleft in a limousine. There were cops everywhere and security guards. Guess it was necessary otherwise some of the crowd would have literally mobbed him and the cup. There were hundreds of people there. We will get our day for pics and autographs, tomorrow at Harbor Grace. I wanted to share this with you. I will take many many pic tomorrow and wish to share some of them with you. btw in case you were wondering, seeing the cup was for me what being high on stanley cup type of drugs must feel like. I felt exhalted. Felt like i was floating and I saw hardly anything around me. People gave me smiles when they saw my glazed glassy eyes rofl when we were leaving - we had to pay 5 bucks to get our car outta the airport parking lot - the man saw me and my jersey and asked me what it was like to see the Stanley Cup. I was like it was simply an amazing feeling. This is third time I've been in the cup's presence. And the feeling only gets better each time you see it. The aura of it never goes away. And, I added loudly, I will see it again tomorrow ! and get my pic taken with it and with Danny hopefully. And get his autograph on the cards I bought. The harbor grace bit is too long to tell but I'll post a few of danny and the cup at the harbor grace parade and me with the cup. one second..... all these pics and the ones I'm going to post were taken by me. Except the pic of me with the cup. That was taken by the cup keeper.

I hope Bertuzzi never plays another day in the nhl. all he got was a slap on the wrist, millions more dollars, and he was still allowed to play on the olympic team for 2006. I'm sorry, what? I saw what he did. I'm sure we all saw it. That man should have gone to prison for what he did. what were they on when they named bert to the olympic team? I'd say a very strong combination of crack and coke. Makes me glad Sweden and not Canada won the olympic gold that year tbh.

I agree with you. there. I remember watching Theo when he was a Hab. That was few years ago, he aint a money goalie by one of my friend's definiton of one that one is a cup winner or a consistent goalie a star.... he was only with the habs for short while then leave now hes an av and....but imo he really aint that good of a goalie imo when I watched him play I could hardly remember his name the next day. Thats how much he stood out for me.

It's Cyrillic. btw I've heard that name before., Sergei Kolosov. I've definitely heard of him. Belarussians are good hockey players. I believe the brothers Sergei and Andrei Kostitsyn originally come from Belarus (if I'm not mistaken)

I had my pics taken with the cup in 1993 and 2002. For anyone who's not seen the cup irl yet, its a truely amazing feeling. You'll never forget it. and you'll love it when you do get to see the cup irl. I swear you'll loive the feeling. You know how beautiful the cup is on tv when a player carries it around the ice after they've just won it? Well imo its twice as beautiful in real life as it is on tv. The cup is so beautiful it almost glows with its own silver light.

And lots, I mean, tons of piccies of the celebrations in Harbor Grace. Believe me, nothing short of a catastrophe will keep me from being there for June 30th and July 1. Gievn the choice between missing all of this and taking a cross check in the teeth, I'll take the cross check. I dont have any Cleary red wings jersey to wear though, I only have a #96 Holmstrom one. Ah well *shrugs* Its still Red wings. I'm wearing it anyway.

That is true. I'm a Newfoundlander and that report is absolutely true. And I will be there for all of the celebrations june 30th and july 1st. Im going to the janeway and then to harbor grace the next day for the celebrations. The Childrens hospital in St John's is called the Janeway Children's hospital. i got to agree with this. MY friend says what is wrong with the leafs is that they are more interested in making money and filling the seats than they are in trying to build true stanley cup contenders.

i don't like avery maybe i should elaborate some....I saw what he did to brody on youtube. It was unnecessary and immature. and he did it on purpose by facing brodeur. That had nothing to do with screening the goalie or even trying to play the game. Had everything to do with taunting and humiliation.

I'd pick 1. IMpossible. You can have, imo a favorite team and a second favorite team (mine is wings & habs) but to claim to love two teams the same is incomprehensible to me. Idk. But thats my view of it. of course I have a goalie friend who claims I'm the nutty one for even picking a second favorite team. He says You can only go for one.
