I'm not going to argue about your objectivity, most here have already done this. What does make you ignorant or dumb is starting all of your sentences with a lower case letter. Sorry, but how you present your thoughts makes just as big a difference in what your thoughts actually are. Spend some time formulating complete sentences and people may not be as quick to write you off.

Here is what a lot of people are forgetting... Pronger is a world class defenseman, not just another goon. This hurts his team tremendously. A one game suspension in the playoffs for a player of Pronger's caliber is like 5 during the regular season. The Ducks will not only miss his presence, but a large part of their game plan will change because Carlyle will have to lengthen the bench a bit. I'm happy with the outcome, the suspension was deserved, and one game in the playoffs is huge. With that said, this is hockey, Homer is okay, and there isn't any need to pile on. This isn't the first time Pronger has hurt his team with his actions during the playoffs. Anyone remember the attempted hit on Stevie Y? This guy does have a history, just remind Ducks fans of this and move on. If some Ducks fans aren't objective or knowledgable enough about the game, there isn't much that can be done, so why waste the bandwidth? Most people at AllDucks I talked to last night admitted Pronger might get a game, and it would be deserved. Some were morons, but hey, we have enough of our own and I figure those in glass houses should not throw stones.

I have also never heard of a hearing being called and a suspension not levied. A one game suspension would be a huge loss for the Ducks, and the Wings would HAVE to take advantage.
-
Yeah, I would like to see some postgame, but none is anywhere to be found....I have the sportspack so I'm hoping MSG will carry it after boxing is over. I'm rooting for Ottawa because I LIKE this Sens team. They are different than previous Sens teams. They are skilled, but gritty and determined.
-
...and we just got one more game closer to that final!
-
The Ottawa board was just repeating what they heard on the CBC broadcast...so CBC must have gotten it from LGW? I really would like to see that final. What a great series it would be.
-
Got this off the Ottawa board: Neat stat by Maclean. Any year that ends with the digit 7, the Stanley Cup winner is either a Canadian team or the Wings. 1997: Detroit 1987: Edmonton 1977: Montreal 1967: Toronto 1957: Detroit 1947: Toronto 1937: Montreal (Maroons) 1927: Victoria Cool.

...and what does my good man have to say? Yeah, a lot easier to watch huh?

That's the spirit! Who else?

I'm constantly impressed by how talented Spezza is, not as exciting as Dats IMO, but he is in the same arena. It was at the Sabres blueline, he just stepped up and laid into someone.
-
Did you see that hit by Neil? I'm not officially a member, but I should be.
-
Been watching the entire game. The refs have been absolutely atrocious both ways. I'm on the Sens board right now and they are livid about the calls and lack of non calls at the end of the game. That was interference on Vermette right there...its like the refs do not want the Sabres to go back to Ottawa down 2-0. I'm watching this one until the end. Anyone with me?

As far as which one I think is the better goalie, you have to go with Kipper. This season, Kipper had no where near the blueline in front of him that JSG did, and take a look at the numbers: http://www.nhl.com/nhl/app?service=page&am...layerId=8462147 http://www.nhl.com/nhl/app?service=page&am...layerId=8462044 JSG has a better GAA, but look at the difference in the amount of shots faced. Kipper faced almost a 50% increase in shots over JSG, and the save percentage is virtually identical. Then there is the amount of games played, 74 - 56 in favor of Kipper. With those numbers, my mind is made up on who the better goalie is.... As far as who I respect more. Hands down it is Kipper. I believe in 2003 JSG clearly went beyond good sportsmanship with his padding, and I believe he continues to push the limits. I would like to know if the NHL is monitoring him. I know he is a bigger guy, but he looks like a behemoth in net. He doesn't need those shoulder pads for protection, and I would like to know what he is using around his midsection.

Another factor that may play into Liv's decision. I work with a woman from Sweden whose mother just helped to deliver the Liv's first child less than a year ago. Knowing his prospects of making the big club were slim and none in the foreseeable future, spending more time away from his family was probably not an option.

I agreed with your post and wondered if you had read mine, and then you finished with this idiotic statement. You basically just sunk to the level many Wings posters were hitting in this thread, thus nullifying anything good you had to say. I hereby sentence you to the ignore button, and I fart in your general direction.

I don't know anything about Ducks fans other than they must all sell their tickets to Wings fans when Detroit comes to town However, I do know a little something about their team. When you can roll Niedermayer and Pronger the ENTIRE game, the opposing team is going to have problems. With Pronger quarterbacking the power play, the team is a threat to score every time they go a man up. While I hate the guy, (I'll never forgive him for taking advantage of the lack enforcement regarding pad size during the 03 playoffs, and then actually crying when the Conn Smythe trophy was handed to him), JSG is playing solid again. Up front, this is ANOTHER big team. As far as skill goes, they have Selanne and McDonald as their best players, followed by Getzlaf, Kunitz and Penner. Make no mistake, if there is a team built to take our beloved Wings out of the playoffs, it is this one, and the odds are good this one will go the distance. With that said, have the Wings not had previous success in the playoffs against a young, big team built by Brian Burke? *Cough*, Vancouver, *Cough*.

I think the Sharks will be very aggresive tonight. The Wings MO this series is to struggle early, and come on late and pull it out or lose a close one, I don't see either team blowing the other out here. Here's to hoping the guys get some well deserved rest after a win tonight.
-
I know that.....but I really didn't think the pp would take such a HUGE downturn as it did for the few games he was out. While Homer has been A VERY IMPORTANT cog in the machine for a decade. I think he has stepped up his leadership role on the ice.
-
I will be the first to admit, I under valued Homer's worth to this team. HE has made all the difference in the series. Lang, Sammy, and Schneider all of the Schneid in the last two games, and they are playing physical. Dom continues to bounce back and look good doing so. One thing I want to point out, is the play of a one Kyle Quincey. He has played a solid game. I really like his physical presence and he is cool under pressure for a Rook in the WCF Semis.

As reported on WXYT, If regulation time runs over or the game goes to OT, those of us outside Detroit and San Jose will not be able to watch. Let's go to NHL.com and flood them with feedback. Here is the link, scroll down and you will see the "Contact Us" link which will pop up a webform. http://www.nhl.com/nhlhq/index.html Here is what I wrote: I just found out that NBC will dump the Wings/Sharks game @ 4:30 tomorrow for the Kentucky Derby PRE-RACE SHOW!! While those in the San Jose and Detroit markets will probably still be able to view the game if regulation time is extended or the game goes to OT, those of us outside those markets are out of luck. This is unacceptable. The NHL continues to convey it's ineptitude regarding TV deals and scheduling.

Good work everyone, keep it up. Moderators, can we get this pinned? -

Oh, I don't blame NBC, I blame the NHL. Their lack of foresight and ineptitude regarding schedules and TV deals, not to mention bargaining power is astounding to me. -

Could the moderators pin this for visibility purposes? People need to see this so they are aware and write in to the NHL. -
