Since people enjoy crazy conspiracy theories, I am going to suggest one of my own. Arby's is paying Red Wings players under the table. It's the only logical explaination for all of these "hometown discounts" and lack of hatricks. On a more serious note, I was literally laughing out loud at the Osgood interview after the game. You tell 'em Ozzie! This criticism has him on a mission. You can see it in his eyes. I can see the headlines now: "worst goalie to win four cups".

My favorite peice of artwork that has come about as a result of our wars is definately one someone made against Dallas last season. It was a picture of a border toll and it had Marty Turco in front of it. A bunch of illegal immigrants were easily running past him and it said "the real reason for the border control problem". It was excellent

I'm proud to say I was at that game. If I remember correctly, franzen had a hat trick and mccarty got in a fight. It was such a good feeling to crush the Aves. I did actually miss seeing that happen live though. I wish they would have showed it on the big screen so we could have "welcomed" Mr. Mcleod to Hockeytown.

I'm not going to lie, when I saw you had "oops lol" for Colorodo, I laughed. I thought you were mocking them by making fun off the idea that they would actually be relevent factor in the playoff picture. After reading the thread, I can't help but feel a dissapointment that you just made a small error Can I still pretend you were taking a subtle jab? I really want the wings to play St. Louis, but I'll settle for anyone. You have to beat who ever they lay in front of you, and I think this team will do just that. Drive for 5!

My old neighbor in Saginaw used to play for the New York Rangers. His name was Mike (something that started with a G I think). He would come over and play street hockey with us in the driveway. His stick handeling and such was amazing even though I'm sure he was a lower forth liner or something. He was a really nice guy. That's the only professional hockey player I've ever met. It's nothing amazing I guess, but I think it was cool that he took the time to play with us a lot

As someone who is only 19, I'm curious as to what happened that year. Could someone please explain?

Despite the poor travel schedule and time zone difference, I really want to get revenge on the Oilers. That series still turns my stomach.

I think it's also fair to assume that espn wouldn't be "bashing" us if we had an enforcer. Burnside would be too scared. Ken Holland shares part of the blame for this atrocity!

On a side note.... Mindfly, are you serious? We won the game, and we played great. There is never going to be a "perfect" game. The other team is also full of professionals. They want to win too and they can make plays as well. It's a good thing you are a "fan" of a dynasty that consistantly wins around 75% of its games. Unfortunately, you don't appreciate it. It's kind of pathetic, really.

As for home ice advantage, Detroit is a veteran team. Does anyone honestly think these guys are intimidated by playing on the road? I hope we catch San Jose, but I'm not confident we will. At the end of the day, I don't think it has that much effect on our chances to win another title. There's no gaurentee we even meet up with them and it most likely wouldn't even go 7 games. This team lives for the playoffs. The vets know when to raise their level of play. I am completely confident that we will see a return to our machine like play of last postseason. Our problems with intensity and apathy can be directly atributed to the regular season being meaningless. You can see it in the fans. You can see it in the players. It will all be different here in the coming weeks and months. I'm not greedy. All I want is 16 lousy postseason wins.

Soft euros we need some TOUGH BOYS TO RUN RAMPANT ALL OVER THE ICE. LEBDA AND SAMMY SUCK. Babcock messed the lines up and our pk and pp was atrocious. Seriously, this team is out in the first round!!!! The seasons over. The division is lost. Oh, we won?

There is absolutely no way they belong in the rafters with the Greats in this storied franchise. However, I do think it is nessasary for them to be honored for their contributions with something such as a grind line statue or pictures in the concourse of the Joe (or any future arena). They were important pieces that deserve to be remembered and celebrated, but are not worthy of being up there with the likes of a Steve Yzerman. No way...

I can't imagine watching Red Wings Hockey on FSN without ken and mickey! They are all I've ever known Bob cole from cbc said "That's it. The game is over" (in the worst monotone ever) when the Red Wings won their recent cup. I laugh every time I see the clip (I saw the game on NBC).

Bettman will probably move the game to Europe. That way it can air at 2 a.m on a Monday morning or something here in the United States.
