    All Star Game Starters Set

To add to what I said previously, there is also no one from Washington, Philly, New York, or Calgary. So basically the top 7 teams have no starters. This showcase of the games best has turned into an embarressment for the league. I won't be watching either.

    Rest of the NHL Transitioning

I've been saying it all year when people complained about our lack of effort and only scaping by to win on talent. It's only human nature that the Red Wings can't get up for Nashville or Colorodo in the middle of Winter. This team is going to be rediculous in a seven game series. Hossa/Zett/Dats are going to take over, BIGTIME. When teams are trying to take OUR title from us, there will be no problem with motivation and we will still have that overwelming talent. We've already seen a taste of this against San Jose and Chicago this year. I think this team has too much leadership and will be dominant come playoff time. They know this is the last year with this stacked roster and immortality is on the line. 5 cups in 12 seasons would sound pretty good don't you think? San Jose is our biggest threat. I think that if we played them in the playoffs it would be a classic, much like the 2002 avs series. Should be very physical because, much like then, I think this matchup determines who wins the cup. People saying they are incapable of beating us aren't even being logical. However, with that said, I believe we would and should beat them. They scare me because they are talented and physical, but most of all, I'm sure they are tired of the failures and having to hear about it all year. If we beat the Sharks, we keep our cup. IMO In the past, from 2003-2006, I would have been worried about teams like Calgary, Anaheim, or Vancouver, but not anymore. This team has shown they play a physical game, will go in the corners, and crash the net. I don't see these teams taking 4 out of 7 from us...Not with this group and not with Babcock at the helm.

    All Star Game Starters Set

No starters from Detroit, San Jose, or Boston. That's pretty silly.

1/3 GDT: Red Wings 3 at Wild 2 (SO)

Mindfly, I'm sure to you it spells disaster. Wings lose 7-0. This begins our slide out of contention for playoffs~

Question about the joe and my tix

If I'm not mistaken, row 4 is the one directly behind the benches. Row 6 would be two back, which obviously is still a GREAT seat.

Report: 2009-10 cap rumored to be $55M

This is the way I see it now and the way I have seen it since we signed Hossa. We just won the stanley cup and I think our team was solid enough to go for a repeat, even before we got Hossa (I'm sure almost everyone here agrees). Now say Hossa helps us repeat during this one year window. We sign Zetterberg and Franzen. With the remaining money we sign the other role players (huds/sammy/ect ect) willing to buy into our system. Is there anything wrong with going for the three pete (assuming we are lucky enough to have another parade) with essentially the same team that won last year? I don't think so. It goes against everything Red Wing to unload all of our role guys. We show loyalty to our guys (fran/zet) and like to roll 4 deep lines. I don't think there's anyway Holland sacrifices 4-5 players off of a stanley cup winning team to retain Hossa. Hossa is as good as gone. I love the guy, but it's what's best for this franchise.

11/11 GDT: Penguins 7, Red Wings 6 (OT)

Chris Osgood can move into 14th place all time in career wins ahead of former Pens goalie, Tom Borosso, with a win tonight~

Is Babcock as good as we think he is?

    10/11 GDT: Red Wings 3, Senators 2

Mindfly, reasonable people are not worried because it's two games. Do you not know the culture of this team? People like Yzerman, Lidstrom, Draper, Osgood. There is no panic. It's early into the season. Let the team get back into rythme and get some chemistry. We have 80 more games. Do you honestly think we are going to miss the playoffs or something? These comments are absolutelt REDICULOUS by some of you people.....JESUS CHRIST!!!! I am so angry right now.

    10/11 GDT: Red Wings 3, Senators 2

I wish some of you people would shut the hell up. You are being rediculous with those comments. It makes me wonder if you are even a fan of the Wings. Even if they had lost this game, there would be no panic. Do you honestly think Lidstrom or Draper would be freaking out like you? It's a regular season game in OCTOBER. Nice game Franzen! Wings really took it to them the last 10 minutes.

Very cool panoramic shot from the Joe on opening night

Awesome! Thanks for the link! Yep, last night reminded me of game 1 vs the Penguins. The corners were FULL of leafs fans near the top. I bet there were 3,000 or so leafs fans in total. But what can you do? They have the same chance to buy the tickets as we do and Toronto is nearby. Game 5 vs the penguins didn't have nearly as many pens fans as game 1.

Opening Night, ceremony and game time?

My ticket says 8est, but I'm going to use caution and assume it starts at 7est based off of this thread. I guess I will leave saginaw at 4est so I can get there by 6est and grab something to eat. I would be ticked if I missed the banner raise.

    Hossa

The team has too many soft Euros. It's time to blow the whole thing up and start over.
  17. 19Hockeytown5

    Season Opener Schedule

Yeah, I was curious about this too. My ticket says 8:00 pm (puck drop). I'm assuming the banner ceremony starts at 7pm and I should get there by 6:30 (I'm coming from Saginaw)

Schneider waived by Ducks/traded to Atlanta.

    I hope he enjoys Atlanta....rofl

    Hossa gives his opinion...

That Penguins fan, "Richard Gnida, is taking some completely unacceptable and outrageous shots at Konstantinov. What an absolute ass.

    Who's attending tomorrow night's game?

I'm so glad we can finally get our title defense under way I still haven't received my season tickets yet. Granted my first game isn't until Oct 3rd, but I'm still pist. I haven't received an email and they won't answer my emails to them.

    Season Tickets In Hand

I haven't received mine or got any email confirmation yet. I'm starting to worry actually. Did anyone else who ordered the Howe Plan get their tickets yet?

    Franzen vs. Hossa

It's not Mule vs Hossa if you are realistic about it. It will be Mule+huds+Sammy vs Hossa. He is a better player than each of them individually, but I do not want to sacrifice depth for him. Really, I'm just ready for the season. We have a great 1 year window for a repeat, due to Hossa's sacrafice. At the end of the day, if he helps us repeat and THEN we lock up everyone except Hossa, we STILL have the same team (which just won us a cup this season)to go for the threepeat (I STILL like our chances). Hossa is just an addition that worked for this year, I don't think it's worth losing a bunch of players for him after this next season. I hope that makes sense
  24. 19Hockeytown5

    Question for everybody regarding Hossa

If Hossa helps this team achieve our goal of back-to-back Cups, I will feel absolutely no hard feelings. As Holland said, he made this deal happen by taking less on a 1 year deal. It gives a great oppurtunity for our team in the salary cap era before several contracts are up in the air next season.

    Hurricanes 3rd jersey's released

That's awful. I wonder what their fans think of that.
