Seems like no matter what, Osgood will always face these types of questions
-
u think youll be able to get autographs at the Sunday one?
-
that is awesome. hell of a gift

Oh ok your one of those guys. Id love to hear what naive and delusional ideas I have. I am 24 and trust me if you think that you not understanding why people above the age of 12 still collect will keep me up tonight you are wrong. You are more then welcome to your opinion. I was just stating that you have a tone to your thoughts and opinions that suggest you feel your better then people who still collect autographs but whatever you need to say to make yourself feel better is fine. Keep going around collecting your handshakes.
-
Another thing you should stop and think about. We are talking about hockey players. You keep talking about the financial end of getting an autograph. Driving from Ann Arbor to Traverse City and back will cost me more in gas then a signed puck by any of the players on the Wings. Hockey isnt a top 4 sport nationally so the demand and cost to buy an item online is pretty low but the experience of meeting a player and getting a keepsake is priceless to some people like myself

No I am saying you come across as sounding like you feel more superior then fans that look for an autograph instead of handshake. And yes I believe players at their word because most of them would stay longer to make sure they turned no one away. Look at Osgood form the parade. He stayed hours to just make sure he signed for everyone.

I couldnt disagree with you more. More interesting then your opinion is your tone. You have this sense of being better then people who ask for an autograph. You obviously have this belief that anyone that is above the age of 12 and asking for an autograph is looking to make $$$ off of the players. I think you are very jaded with this opinion can I can speak from experience. I try and collect signed pucks from all Red Wings players and hope to one day pass that collection down to a son or grandson, not so he can get rich off of it but because collecting is what I have done since I was 10 years old. Do some players look at signing autographs as a burden? I am sure some do but its been my experience that most of the Wings players I have met are very different. I know with ebay coming about it can make people very jaded towards collectors but you have done a sufficient job of lumping every collector above the age of 12 in with them. There are still people out there that love to collect items from their favorite teams. In the end your right, everyone can have an opinion but yours is a little over the top in my opinion since you basically are saying that people like myself are ungrateful and in your words not mentally sane for wanting one. Just because there are people that look to turn a profit from them doesnt mean you should generalize.

Does asking for an autograph make you less grateful? Does standing outside the rink even without tickets to watch, hoping and waiting to see them and get an autograph describe someone who is not grateful? I use to work at a sports store in high school that would do signing with the Red Wings and the one thing you heard from every player was how amazed they are at people who stand in line and wait and wait and wait just to get a second to see the player and get an autograph. Most of them are GRATEFUL of the fans for being willing to do things like that. Not saying wanting a handshake like you said is wrong but to basically put yourself on some sort of superior level for not wanting an autograph and then describing yourself as being more grateful of them because of it is laughable.
-
So if I was goin on a weekend, what day and when would you suggest being at the rink?
-
Have always thought about going up but havent. Talked to my wife and she is up for it this year. I know the tickets are pretty much gone but anyone have any tips or suggestions on getting autographs up there?
-
anyone who has gone before, how good are the guys about signing autographs?
-
Glad its only 7. I really hate when the games arent on FSN
-
that series was insane. I remember going nuts on that goal

I currently found out I will be a father at the start of next year and to help support my family I am selling off some of my collection. I am looking to sell a authentic white signed Steve Yzerman jersey. Not looking to charge someone an arm and a league put willing to work out a price. Please let me know if your interested. Here are two pictures of the jersey, one of the back and one of the signature

Jersey sold

i would say he is one of the best, hard to really peg anyone as THE best
-
Kronwall has always been a guy ive been high on. As long as he stays healthy the sky is the limit IMO for him
-
Babcock is the class of the league. Glad he is behind our bench
-
interesting. I'm with you and dont see what Pittsburgh could give up to make it worth it for the Wild. Pittsburgh gave up a good bit to get Hossa, so I dont see them having a lot of young talent to give up for Gaborik

congrats

I know this is minor and probably most wont care but I have always felt bad for Hank when it comes to this years cup photo. He has an awesome season, kills it in the playoffs, wins the con smyth and then gets stuck in the back corner of the photo. I just wonder how this even happened, all the major guys are around the cup but some how Hank gets stuck trying to poke his head over everyone to even get in it. To make things worse, Draper's kids get front row for most of the photos. Just something that always bugged me. Here is a picture so you know what I mean. Hank is sticking is head up in the back left of the photo http://ddandrews.deviantart.com/art/WINGS-...tanley-88627408]
