    Stream for Tonight's Game

I use UStream, too, though usually the sports/hockey category is a good one: http://www.ustream.tv/discovery/live/sports-hockey Puck You or something usually has tbe best quality.

    Interesting ESPN polls

Can't say it's "Americans" in general, because not all Americans vote on ESPN.com. I think a lot of people who like sports enough to go on ESPN.com would say of course they'd watch the Stanley Cup Finals, any sport's finals would usually interest sports fans for the most part.

    What if ....

I also agree, that's one thing I love about the Wings. I'm 100% fine with the Pens and Crosby/Malkin being the poster children, because at the end of the day they don't have the same class that the humble Wings do, and I'd rather be rooting for a team with class and no spotlight. Now I don't follow the entire league and other teams as much as some do, but to me it seems like a team's work ethic can really transform a player. Take Jokinen for instance, I had looked up to him for what little I saw him play before he went to the Flames, but then I saw him in a few Flames games and he fit right in with them, looking like a goon. The Wings seem to both bring in and cultivate well-rounded respectable players.

    Just an amazing statistical anomaly

I absolutely hate watching our PKs. You'd think clearing the puck was something of an impossible feat sometimes. Too many times I'm like, "Yes, a clea…shoot, here comes a goal." Then bam, goal. Sometimes it just seems like a little extra effort should be put forth to clear the puck. And yeah, we're not too good at blocking shots either, it's usually squat down on one knee and hope for the best, when good blocks seem to happen when players lay out at opportune times (I realize this is risky, but you should be able to jump right back up again if a pass is made).

    Pens Boards, (merged)

Dangit, I thought this thread was going to be about how many goals we get from good bounces off the Pens' boards. *chuckle*

Crosby and Malkin... who are they?

This is dead on. It's still interesting to see all the Pens commercials, and all the replays from last year's finals, making it look like the Pens won or something. I laugh inside because I know the truth, but it's still annoying to watch, because any newcomer to the NHL will get spoon-fed all this Pens media garbage.

    Referee Rumor

Yeah, was able to dig some stuff up: http://sports.espn.go.com/nhl/playoffs2008...tory?id=3420092 and this thread with some of his bad calls: http://www.letsgowings.com/forums/index.ph...=55392&st=0 He just leaves a bad taste in my mouth. Who knows if the Wings woulda won last night if that goal was allowed.

    Referee Rumor

A friend told me that the referee that disallowed last night's goal vs. the Stars, and the goal in last year's playoffs (Dan O'Halloran I think?) was shot and seriously injured in Detroit a while ago, and that could be a cause for some kind of bias against the Wings. I generally don't believe referees ever have it out for any one team, but I just want to find out if this is true or not, done some search but have come up with nothing. Anyone heard or know about this?
