    Wings RBK Jersey from China

Note to self: Next time, trust my instincts and don't order s*** from China. I'm not even pissed it's a Chelios jersey, I'm VERY pissed that they screwed people like this. What? They sold one Zetterberg jersey and then just started shipping Chelios ones WITHOUT even notifying people? What gives? What a waste of money.

That was my thought... what if they just ran out of Zetterberg jerseys or something? I'd be pissed.

    For all the Hudler-haters

Link: http://www.mlive.com/redwings/index.ssf/20...ns_zetterb.html TRAVERSE CITY -- One of Jiri Hudler's new linemates, Henrik Zetterberg, is the reigning Conn Smythe Trophy winner. The other, Johan Franzen, scored 27 goals in 27 games during an outburst at the end of the regular season and into the playoffs. Detroit Red Wings coach Mike Babcock could have tabbed an established player, like Dan Cleary or Mikael Samuelsson, to play with Zetterberg and Franzen. Or he could have used third-line center Valtteri Filppula. But he chose Hudler, who has shown flashes of offensive ability in limited ice time, primarily on third and fourth lines. But he also has been knocked for his lack of quickness and his defensive deficiencies. An opportunity like this does not come along every day -- and it's one Hudler knows he must seize, or somebody else will. "It feels great, obviously, to play with players like this. But you still got to get onto that line and do your thing, work hard," Hudler said. "I know how Z and Mule play, just got to get used to the right (wing). I played left last year." mod edit: don't post full articles.

    Wings RBK Jersey from China

I ordered mine on the 14th. Will I still get my Zetterberg jersey? I wonder when the cut-off was and whether or not I'm safe or if I have to worry about where my money went and if I'll get anything at all...

    Who's attending tomorrow night's game?

So... I'm PUMPED that the first preseason game is tomorrow night. It's making work go by incredibly slow. Is there anyone else going to the game tomorrow night? Kinda cool that Hossa's team will be playing the first matchup... Where's everybody sitting?

question about a Dominic HasekPro Set rookie card

Haha, sorry about the false alarm! Wasn't intentional!

No TV Timeouts after icings this year

Oh noes! I hope this doesn't mean less EDGE shave gel commercials squeezed into every 10-second break. Seeing those scantily clad women jetpacking up a guy's nose or spraying eachother with mosturizing lotion made my hockey-watching experience that much better.

How did we get this log jam on defense?

It's because teams carry more forwards to spread over 4 lines than they do defensemen (typically only 3 pairings). Also, the forward position consists of 2 wingers and a center, whereas defense consists of just 2 men, playing right and left. There are more positions to be filled in a forward role, as opposed to defense, which carries a much smaller contingent of players.

question about a Dominic HasekPro Set rookie card

Originally, I was going to say go onto Beckett.com and search for it, but I did it myself. Is this the card you have? http://beta.beckett.com/item/1291024/Hocke...rice#tabContent It says it is his rookie card. Hope it helps.

Wings logo losing to Canadiens logo

No idea if it all counted, but I just voted another like 50 times for the DRW logo. 52%-48% Wings right now...

Larsson outplaying Howard? McCarty outplaying Donwey?

I'll be watching him tonight from the front row and I'll be taking MANY pictures... expect to see them soon!

When considering the final forward spots....

This topic's deviated pretty far from where it started... Anyone still feel like talking hockey? Or addressing the topic at hand?
  16. Shutemdown

    Huh, I could have sworn....

Just buy tickets! There are still plenty left and they're relatively cheap! God knows our DRW would love to see a full crowd at their first game (even if it is preseason). C'mon people, buy some tickets! You know you'd want to go to a game tomorrow night! You've been waiting all summer long! Heh, at least I tried.

Edit: Yeah, so I underlined all the players I'm excited to see.

News from the Last Day of Camp

Wewt!!! Only one more day!! I'm pumped that I'll get to see Hossa play... I'm so excited. I'll be sitting front row! Where's everyone else going to be sitting? I'll be wearing my Hossa jersey t-shirt, so look for me!

    The Winter Classic Jerseys?

I think those 2009 DRW jerseys are horrible looking. They're so bland, and they're already EXACTLY like the ones we wear only without color on the shoulders. WTF?

    Decisions looming on blueline depth

Link: http://www.redwingscentral.com/stories/200.../21_Roundup.php Some highlights: — Team Abel defeated Team Sawchuk 4-3 in intra-squad play on Saturday. Swedish forward Dick Axelsson scored twice and Randy Cameron had a goal and an assist to pace Team Abel to victory. Ericsson had the other goal. Dan Cleary, Kris Draper and Mikael Samuelsson scored for Team Sawchuk. — Both of Axelsson's goals were the result of driving the net. "He's a good skater with very good puck control," Ericsson said. "His first goal just shows he's really good in front of the net. He's got very nice potential." — The line of Darren Helm, Ville Leino, and Downey provided grit, speed and skill as they generated multiple scoring chances. Leino, the reigning Finnish SM-Liiga MVP, was particularly impressive. "I think (Leino's) blessed with talent and the puck follows him around," Red Wings head coach Mike Babcock said. "He's like a lot of guys when they first come from Europe. He passes the puck and watches it instead of passing it and taking off skating." — As the players were getting ready to leave the rink, Cleary approached a member of the equipment staff and said, "We need to order a new pair of sandals for Conks (Ty Conklin). He has the Pittsburgh Penguins logo on the pair he's wearing and they need to go in the trash — he has no choice. It's unacceptable!"

When considering the final forward spots....

I've been following up on Ville Leino ever since Fabian Brunstrom went to Dallas. I was psyched about that guy until he signed with Dallas, so I began researching other prospects, and Leino has been on my watch list ever since. He seems to be a great player and a great fit for the team. However, he faces ALOT of competition if he's going to make the team. Either way, he's already stated that he REALLY wants to play for Detroit and is willing to do what it takes to make the squad, knowing full-well it might not be this season. He's also been quoted saying that even if he DOES go back overseas, he will still tryout for a spot on the Wings. He'll be around... I just wish he could play this year. He's probably my most anticipated player at this point. Whenever he gets his chance, we'll see what he's got. Helm was my favorite and most-surprising player last season. He came into the club without very many expectations and blew people away. He gave %110 every time he touched the ice. He played hard, skated hard, drew penalties, and even put in a BEAUTIFUL goal. IMO he should already be in the line-up, no questions asked. In my eyes, his training camp was last post-season and he definately made the grade. I'm crossing my fingers to see both of these guys on the roster this year...

    Blues and Sabres 3rd jerseys

I actually liked the Arch in the Blues' logo. Besides that, their jerseys are the most basic jerseys ever... at least the Arch makes sense and is a city landmark.

    Hossa's back is "tight"

Oh, jeez... I hope that's what it is.
