Dude your so caught up on this number crunching. Do you even watch the games or are you to busy studying the stat sheet. On top of that your numbers are misleading. Z 2007-2008 Red Wings 75 43 49 92 75 games played, so we can agree on he was atleast on pace for 1 point per game. So lets toss around the idea that if he played 82 games he would have had about 99 points. D 2007-2008 Red Wings 82 31 66 97 Again 06-07 if Z was healthy looks like they were on about the same level. Z 2006-2007 Red Wings 63 33 35 68 D 2006-2007 Red Wings 79 27 60 87 The only thing you can argue is the fact that Zetterbergs has back problems and health is a concern. For all you know this year Z could end up on top D has only recently increased the points gap.

To simply answer your question with common sense that cant be argued against. By putting them 3 on one line. In the end you would loose overall points produced as a whole team. If you had Dats, Zett, and Hossa on the same line how many more points do you think they would score than having Holmstrom there? Probably none and at best a hand full of points. Now think about how many points your going to loose on your second line. Holmstrom is unreplaceable in front of the net.

I doubt that would happen but i would be all for it. Theres alot of different factors when talking no roof on an ice rink over a football or baseball stadium. The overhead scoreboard the lights, things like that. But what the hell do i know about that. On top of that to design a rink to suite the needs of a hockey arena with a retractable roof is something thats never been done id imagine your talking probably close to double the price tag.

Boston would be a good choice i think. Next year there team will even be better. Vs Montreal depending on how there doing next season. Another great one would be Toronto vs Montreal regardless of what Torontos team looks like. Although like you guys are saying i think the US is more in need of NHL exposer than Canada so i think it will probably be in the states. But somewhere i thought i read something about maybe having 2 outdoor games on New Years day next year. I think that would be the way to do it, 2 out door games a year with the best matchups in the top 16 teams.

Are you kidding me? These are some of the funnest games you can watch. You aint a hockey fan your just a Red Wings fan. Also how do you watch 4 games a night? Theres not to many days a year where its possible to watch more than 2 in a day unless your video taping these games. Yeah like your that hardcore. You watch parts of 4 games a day dam your special so does everybody else on here. I watch all hockey, I dont care who, where, or why, if theres a game on ill watch it. Could be 12 year old girls ill watch it.

These guys just won a Stanley Cup as nice as another one sounds it probably really isnt to appealing to them at this point. Some of these guys have played 300-1000 NHL games thats alot of games. They already met there goals last year. On top of that they all know what kind of team they have and they know no matter what they do there going to get into the playoffs. No matter what you do this teams not going to play like anyone expects until maybe 15 or so games left to go in the season. The only other thing that could pull this team together is if they started to loose alot of games. The playoffs we are going to see everything this team has so what are your worried about? Seriously?

Thats something i dont understand either. Why leave Zetterberg out when hes our future? You can tell hes somewhat frustrated with his line mates. Dats and Zet are the ones that are going to be playing together next year they should be with each other now further building chemistry. It just doesnt make sense unless Babs wants to keep these two split up next year. Franzen isnt all that like some of you guys think. Franzen is never going to be a star player, yeah he can shoot the puck but thats the only thing that really stands out. Yeah ive seen him explode a couple times and puck handle threw a few defensemen but what NHL player isnt capable of pulling that off if the conditions are right. Also don't forget the pace Zetterberg was starting to role on at the end of last year. I really think if Z was on Dats line from the start of the year like Hossa he would be burying Hossas points away and Dats would have more himself.

Hudler, Flip, and Cleary have been playing great together. I haven't had the chance to watch to much of the games unfortunately but the last few times i have them guys have been awesome. Huds and Flips been holding the puck in the offense zone looking real comfortable. Hudler looks like his confidence is fueling off his stats and is looking better and better everyday. I find myself amazed during the game at how well these guys are playing, i think they have been our best line over the past couple games. Hudlers been just absolutely awesome, yeah he has been putting up numbers all year but not until now has he started to actually look good out there.

For sure it feels like watching the wings again. I've been impressed with the overall play of the last couple games from everybody for the first time this year. All season the flow of the wings just gave you a struggling vibe every game. Regardless if they were dominating the game or not. Like i said the last couple games felt right, it felt like the Red Wings we have gotten so use to. I think things are going to look better from here on out.

Dats, Hossa, and Homer have been producing more points and playing great like you would expect from them guys but i thought Huds, Flip, Cleary were playing really hard. Obviously there not better than Dats and Hossa but they have been giving them a run for there money. Every shift they come out hard. I would feel comfortable betting that Huds/Flip/Cleary for the amount of ice time they get there percentages are close if not better than line 1A on time on attack over the past couple games. They are constantly in control of the puck down in the offensive zone, they are hanging on to the puck really well.

Everyone on here has been so cought up in the whole omg we can keep them all everybody in the leagues willing to take a "home team discount" to be on the wings. Looks like reality is coming to you all and thats higher then i even expected. I figured he would sign for just under 8.

Yeah its about time. Z and D hold onto the puck and are so much more patient in the offensive zone. Hossa likes to shoot at every chance he gets, hes never gonna pass when he has a chance to score himself. Z and D will ponder around looking for that for a real scoring chance for 40 seconds or so before they take a shot if they have to.

Im not dogging Cleary by any means. I'm saying that i havent been impressed with how he mingled with Hossa and Dats. Theres no doubt hes a good solid player and a hard worker, no doubt in my mind. He just doesnt seem to look comfortable with them guys is what i was trying to get at. You guys can have your own opinions but when i watch the games i find myself noticing that almost every time Clearys out to shift with them. I guess i havent had a chance to watch as many games this year as i would like but thats the way lifes going for me this year. I have watched atleast half and i have seen Cleary do very little with those guys. You going to get points no matter who you are if your on the ice with Hossa and Dats and thats a fact that cant be denied. You say well Babs been choosing cleary to be on that line for a reason. Well Babs does do some odd things sometimes, like not keeping Huds on the 1st 2 lines and giving him ice time. I know a couple other of you had opinions in reply to me but i just got in the door and i gotta run back out it right about now.

Um im gonna stop reading because you already proved you dont know much about nothing. Why do you think they brought Drake to the Red Wings? To score points?? LOL He was brought here for grit and leadership something were missing and need badly this year. Drake would be about the best thing that could happen to our team right now. Do you know nothing besides what shows up on the stat sheet? Cleary has played like s*** on the top lines. Are we watching the same guys? He looks like he has no idea how to flow with them players. He doesnt even play his game when hes on those lines. He plays much better when he is on the 3rd line and sticks to his game. You said he has like 5 assists, how couldnt you get points all you have to do is touch the puck here and there and you have a good chance of getting a few helpers when your on a line with Hossa and Dats. I haven't seen Cleary make any good passes that created goals all i have seen is him hand the puck off to his line mates.

He got fired because Tampa Bay did nothing but promote Stamkos all summer long and Melrose refused to give him the ice time the owner and general manager wanted. Melrose said hes not getting ice time until he earns it.

Why isn't he paid like a greatest goaltender? Alot of you guys think Osgood is so great. Why isnt he paid for being so great then? Because hes not. I like Osgood and im glad hes on our team but hes not a great goaltender hes a decent goaltender and thats it. Thats all he ever was and thats all he ever will be.

Ticket prices man, i might not even make it to a game this year. On top of the ridicules ticket prices i have to pay to travel 300 miles and get a hotel room. If you dont buy your tickets 10 months in advanced you have to pay almost 30% extra with all these stupid ticket sales websites that buy them all up. To get tickets to the Chicaco 30th game in the lower bowl im looking at 140$ each. 280$ for tickets plus 300$ in expenses to get there. I'm talking 600$ to go see a 3 hour event at minimum.
