Osgood isn't playing any worse than he ever has. Osgood was never a spectacular goalie, hes a mediacore goaltender. Thats why hes paid like one. Detroit has kept Osgoods GAA down, not allowing real scoring chances only giving up weak shots from the outside. The scoring in the league is up right now everyones GAA is higher than average and on top of that Detroit has been giving up quite a few more scoring chances than they have last season.

Flips not a 3rd liner. Hes a second line player on any team in the NHL. He just hasnt fit so well with Z and Franz. Funny thing is at the start of the year everyones fantasy line predictions had flip on the second line. So your telling me because he has 8 points this season hes garbage now? What happened to everyone saying i want to see flip on Zs line? s*** now that he only has 8 points hes overpaid dead weight. Noone had a problem with his 3 mill salary last year. Funny how people around here work. Hes been playing just as well if not better than last season. Did you guys forget flip shut down the malkin line in the playoffs. Takes a pretty damn good player to beable to shut down what is a premier super star top dog of the NHL. Ohh but wait hes only got 8 points hes worthless.

I respect your point of view and its right. Can't argue with you bro. You actually know what your talking about and back your opinion with some real facts. Although what im really arguing against with this other guy is pretty much he has no respect for flip or his skills, he sees nothing besides the stat sheet. Hes basically saying flip can be replaced by anybody at anytime and they will do just as good. He doesnt understand flip is one hell of a player and is worth every dime of 3 mill and he doesnt see it for one reason, because he doesnt appear on the stat sheet enough. Anyone that actually pays attention in depth and pays attention to whos doing what couldnt say nothing more than good things about flip. He doesn't understand Leino or Helm could not fill flips shoes by any margin this or next season. I'm not saying Leino wont be a better player than flip ever was. I think Leino could turn into a spectacular player. I do know one thing, it will be atleast 3 years off before Leino could ever fill the shoes of flip.

People come places other than Detroit. I would probably put money on atleast half the nightly attendance comes from places over 1-2 hours from Detroit. People including myself travel from the U.P. to go see Wings games. I know 4 or 5 people personally up here in the U.P. that have season tickets. Thats just people out of my little social circle i know good enough to be aware that they have season tickets. So whats that tell you? I can't even imagine how many people from the U.P. alone attend Wings games yearly. Detroit's auto manufacturers going down arent ever going to make a big enough impact for anyone to ever consider moving the team over. Yes if the economy got alot worse its possible to hurt attendance to that degree but if the economy got THAT bad i think were going to have far greater concerns than about a hockey team.

Why would you be asking this when the Detroit Red Wings attendance for 08 is in the top 5 in the NHL and has been for the last 20 years. Where are they going to possibly move to gain more attendance than they have now? Theres been teams moving around the past 30 years looking for a town to reach higher attendance ratings with no luck. Theres only 1 city in North America that can challage the state of Michigan and the city of Detroit on attendance and thats Montreal. So umm yeah i think this pretty much sums everything up.

Hudlers also gotten to play even strength with Zetterberg on his line. This is stupid i have no reason to argue against Hudler i think hes great. If you can't see how good of a player Flip is your not worth my time but ill give it to you. If you think Helm is as good or better your high bud. Did you miss Helms turnover in the defensive zone that lead to a goal tonight? Thats the difference. The difference is that Helms or any other rookie getting paid .7 mill a season like your claiming is going to turn the puck over a very high % more than flip throughout the season which could result in lost games. The difference is although Flip may not be an explosive goal scorer. He makes a smart pass which doesn't lead to a turn over, hes smart with the puck and always gets the puck in deep without turn overs, he holds on to the puck well killing time so our 2 scoring lines can rest without causing damage, he back checks well, hes one of our top defensive players. Do you realize Helms little tiny rookie mistake in the neutral zone which turn the puck over could result in a goal? No you would never see that far. Youd never realize if you had Filp on the ice that the puck woulda been in deep and there would have never been that scoring chance. Bottem line Flip blows these little .?? mill a year players your dreaming about. The fact is you dont have a clue what your talking about. The only thing you can manage to see is the stats sheet. Do you honestly think Leino/Helm are going to fill Franz, Flips, Hudlers, or Sammys role? Do you really think Leino/Helm are NHL ready 2nd line players? Your dreaming maybe in 3 years from now they will be. Do you really think that these guys are that good already? They could be 2nd line players one day but not next season. To keep Hossa we are going to have to loose 3-4 of are decent payed players, which would be the ones i listed above. Even if you read YoungGuns1340s speculations. That still wouldn't even work out as good as he listed. Zett nor Hossa is going to accept 6.7 mill. No way in hell Hudlers going to only want 2 mill if he stays on the pace hes on now. Now look we have to scratch Hudler off his speculations too. Look how s***ty our team is now. Alls we are saying is they don't. The numbers have just been done in front of your own eyes. Theres a 100% chance that you can't sign Hossa and Zetterberg for next season no and if butts about it. Even being unrealistic about the numbers and low balling the projections its still not possible. Them numbers don't lie those are the real numbers being low balled if anthing.

Were still going to be a solid contender as far as i can see. Its just going to be along time until were as good as we are right now again.

Why do you fail to understand this? Look at this information, read what i say bellow and get back to me bud. Alright well lets look at these numbers for an example. This is just this guys choosings it could be different but either way your going to loose core guys. We lost Sam, Flip, and Ledba and this is without Hossa. Now who do you erase to make 7-8 more mill for your Hossa? Want to get rid of Cleary, Hudler, and Franzen to? Ok your right dude Hossas way more important than half our team. Lets get Hossa and well bring up 10 new guys out of the AHL. Sam, Flip, Cleary, Hudler, and Franzen is roughly the players that wouldn't be on your roster is Hossa was to be on it. ON TOP OF THAT. If you think Hossa is going to sign with us "LONG TERM" for a cut salary your on crack. He might sign for a yearr or two at a cut salary and thats it.
