The NHL is now a game that's won and lost by the power play. Penalties so absurd you would have to lower the intensity of your game and play like a girl to avoid. He's done a good job you say? Give me a break. A team can dominate for 2 periods and come the 3rd get charged with ridicules penalties and lose the game. Whats the matter with you guys...

Man where are you guys finding the ladies that are interested in actually following hockey?? I haven't been able to get any of my girlfriends into hockey. My last girlfriend I had her somewhat picking up on the Wings and well, I had to break up with her for other reasons.

I'm looking for all the sickest NHL highlights video's on youtube. Not just good highlights but great quality video's. It would be sick to find a good two or three hours worth of videos and burn them all to a disk. Play them as background entertainment when I have some buddies over drinking type thing. So share what you got! Here's an example of the type of stuff I'm looking for. This guy's stuff is sick, to bad he didn't have alot more. These videos are perfect to roll on to a DVD and play none stop like it's one big video. Know what I'm saying?

Have you watched the games? Holmstrom looks healthy and has been a huge net presents. He is battling at his best. His play on the other end of the puck and breaking out is the same as it was 2 years ago when you were high for Holmstrom talking about how great he is.

Yeah that would make alot of sense.. Throw his body around in the season and get injured so he can't throw his body around in the playoffs when we need it. Babcock doesn't want him making hits like that on a regular basis during the season. Everytime he goes in for a hit like that hes risking injury. Man whats with this place? Preseason and you guys are already criticizing the team. Its ******* preseason, all of the players that have roster spots going in aren't out there to play hard. They are out there coasting around, getting the feel back to be ready for the season. Thats all there is to it. The only players that should be playing hard and the guys that arent locked into the roster and them guys have been playing great.

For one it depends on how healthy he is. Two depends on how well the team plays. He is getting older if we are pretty secure in the standings im sure they would opt to rest him more. Three depends on how Howard plays. Hard to say really.. Although i think the only reason Howard is with the Wings is to give him his legit shot he deserves and at the same time get him out of Grand Rapids so we can get our other goalies some AHL time. If Howard doesn't work out and Osgood is unhealthy believe me we will see a move. Osgood not going nowhere though. Hes the best playoff goaltender in the league for his price.

Ducks also have good players that should be developing into better players this season. People act like Detroits the only team that will see better production from players coming up. They will be a tough team and will contend again this year count on it.

Kind of a stupid topic but has anyone noticed Datsyuks point trend? His point totals from the past 4 years in order 87, 87, 97, 97.. What are the chances of that? How about 107 this and next season?

I don't know what some of you guys are complaining about. We have a great team and will make a solid run at the cup. All of your rookies are going to be even better. We got a good playoff power forward in Bert, Eaves looks like a solid depth player, only person im waiting to judge is Williams.

Whoever is injured will be the odd man out...

Hahah thats awesome, sounds like something i would do. If only i could get tickets or afford to go to a game 7 in the Stanley Cup Finals. Yes he could have single handedly beat down every Pittsburgh player and then raped there families. Or better yet he could of been a terrorist. His gun only works at ice level, i mean theres no way if he had a gun he could just simply shoot people from the stands. Just giving you s*** im not even sure if thats what you meant...

Even if he was a UFA we still wouldn't sign him.. Next year the Wings need a top 6 player for around 3-3.5 mill. That will complete our 1st and 2nd line. Then they will rebuild the 4th line. Our 3rd line will be complete with guys like Helm, Abs, leino, or somebody else depending on if one of those guys don't cut it. The year after we need to find a new number one young franchise defenseman. Maybe even a goaltender if one of our prospects aren't ready by then. We won't find another goaltender at Ozzys caliber for his price range, so in this scenario we will have to probably add another mill or so to our goalie price tag.

Chicago is not going to let Toews go... Lay off the pipe. The Red Wings staff and YOU, realize how valuable and great of a player Toews is. So the conclusion you came up with is that the team that he actually plays on and is a captain for doesn't realize these facts themselves. There for are going to let him walk and try to sign Kane instead? Then on top of that no other team in the league will even notice him and the Wings can come in and sign him with ease for a "RED WINGS DISCOUNT BECAUSE EVERYBODY DOES." Anybody ever heard of logic around here? Get some.

I'm not a fan of Williams myself but he isn't as bad as people make him out. Chances are Holmstrom won't be playing 82 games this season so i do see Williams playing the second line unfortunately unless somebody else steps up. What i really wanted to get at is.. You guys need to get off Hollands back, im sure Williams was not at the top of his list by any means. I'm sure he negotiated with every player everyone on these forums has been thriving for. In the end it came down to we needed to fill a gap and thats the player he ended up having to sign. Hes better than nobody. We only signed him for a year, next year we will likely have a big offseason and makes some good moves.

Haha, You watch every single game you say... Flip did not spend half the season playing on the second line last season and thats a fact. Flip accumulated alot of minutes penalty killing and his 3rd line got quite a bit of ice time. Babcock trusts Flip on the ice, hes one of our top defensive players. I really laugh at the fact you looked up stats and tried to clue together that the amount of ice time he got must been in result of 2nd line minutes. I played Juniors for 2 years i bet you played house league if at all. Anyone that knows anything about hockey knows Flips has alot of offensive talent. Alot of people on these forums haven't even played hockey in there lives and think they know hockey because they check stats on the internet daily. The only reason Flip even played on the 3rd line last year was because he was our best 3rd center on the roster. We had the depth to use such a valuable player on the 3rd line, which resulted in putting our 3rd line over the edge. It wasn't a big deal if our 3rd line got matched up against another teams 1st line. Thats why he played on the third line. You wanna talk 07-08? Thats 2 seasons ago man. He has came along way last season. If you watch every game as you say which i find doubtful by some of the things you say. You would know last season despite Flips point production he has great offensive talent let alone the fact his defensive abilities our outstanding. Hes a great 2 way player. Sorry if my post had some rambling and half ass wording im in a hurry right now. Oh and sorry if you take what i say defensively as thats not exactly what i intended.

And playing with top 6 forwards?? Last year who did he play with all season? Yeah..... 16 points in 23 games in the playoffs playing on the top 2 lines. That would average around 60 points on an 82 game schedule. I say Flip easily posts 60 points this season.

I already tried explaining this to you guys. 10-11 is the year were gunning for, our team will be in its glory year. That means salary wise everything works out perfect for us and we host the best possible team we can.

It definitely helps but by no means makes Lilja expandable. Lilja is a pretty important piece to this team. Think about it, hes got to be one of the best 3rd pair defensemen in the league. Hes not going to ask for anymore money in his next contract. He puts our D over the edge.
