Yeah NBC is *** i tune into CBC way better coverage. I can't even believe the league allows NBC to cover the Cup with there s***ty coverage its a disgrace to the NHL. Stanley Cup with very minimal coverage you kidding me?

Not a chance in hell.

Seems to me hes tied in 3rd for points in the playoffs now that he gets some god dam ice time on the second line. On top of that hes one of our best defensive players on our team. Hmm what was his salary again? Yeah thats what i thought.
-
I can respect that. Next season with the salary cap the way it is comes the departure of atleast a couple players. Chances are hes going to be seeing a second line role on regular basis. When this happens next season.. You will be admitting to me how great it is to have a player like Flip for his low salary. I am not saying by any means Flip is a star player. It just pisses me off is when people complain about how hes not worth his salary based of his "stats" alone. There is a reason why Cleary doesn't get no pp time is the thing. This playoffs Cleary has replaced Holmstrom on the top lines for the most part. Why? Holmstrom is getting slow. Unless we are in the offensive zone Homer is a liability. Clearys net presents has been huge, hes taking over Homers role and he can play a 2 way game on top of that. Now back to the PP. Holmstrom is weapon of choice here. There is no doubt Homer is better in front of the net. On the PP we don't need a 3rd forward to break into the zone, all we need is homer to get in front of that net and do what he does better than anybody. Where do you get all these stats though i would like to check it out. I don't really watch the stats to much what i say comes from what i see in the games.

Alright Younguns i know i called ya out. Not to fight but because i wanted to have a good discussion with you. No disrespect to you because i think your a wise individual. Though you seem to be in your own world at times and do not consider others points. Read my last post and take note to the last paragraph i just edited it and get back to me on MY point. Cleary has gotten a much bigger role. With the pick up in play of the playoffs Holmstrom just can't cut it unless hes in the O zone. Hes becoming to much of a threat to be on the ice for 25-30 minutes with the top lines. Cleary has stepped up and been replacing him in front of the net. Cleary has always been a hard working player on top of that. He is a playoff type player. Helm.... The guys just great, hes going to be something. Hardest working player on our team.

No they weren't everybody on this website is a bunch of stat boy jockeys. Sometimes i wonder if they even pay attention to the game. Probably to busy chit chatting with there buddies about the players stats during the course of the game instead of actually watching it.. When you go out of your way to say Filppula sucks and isn't worth his salary space because he was only on pace for 38-42 points during the season... When in fact hes playing on the 3rd line because Babcock wanted to role 3 solid lines. He was there to hold that line down and be a solid defensive line, that line wasn't there to put up points. Your not going to score points when your coach arranges your line to play defense. There goal was to not let the other team score and hold on to the puck not score goals! Scoring is just a bonus. 3rd line ice time. Playing with 3rd line players. His line playing a defense first style. Hmmm i wonder why he didn't get more points in the reg season. Must be right, it was because he didn't play good during the reg season. Filp is a setup man and needs to play with talent that can finish. He played just as great during the season as he is now. Only difference is hes on the second line playing with real talent and getting the ice time he should be getting. GET IT?

Thats what the seasons for bro. Playoffs leave these guys alone. They are more than happy to sign autographs all season long. These guys live for the playoffs, give them a break let them focus on hockey. Get your autograph next year you'll be alright.

Red Wings Top 12 Prospects according to TSN
wingslionstigers replied to titanium2's topic in General
Howard looks like he has a shot yet. Next season he will get his final chance. Conks will likely be gone and i don't see them signing another backup/starter this off season. If Howard can't make the show this preseason than they will likely move him because hes eating up Larrsons playing time in the AHL. -
Its to bad were not going to have any salary room to resign Helm or any other of these guys coming up when there contracts expire because everyone here wants to sign Hossa long term.

Whats a good hotel to stay at fairly close to the joe that wouldn't be booked out for Sunday nights game? Something fairly cheap preferably. Thanks, Gordon

Dude you don't even have a clue. I can tell your new to this so let me educate you a little bit. 1) Try to understand the game before you start going around talking hockey like you know something. 2) Holmstrom is hands down one of the the most irreplaceable players in the NHL right now. 3) You need to understand that even though Holmstrom doesn't get 80 points per season. He was the reason atleast 100 goals went in the net this season. 4) Holmstrom is a front of the net artist. Nobody can screen, deflect, aggravate goalies/defensemen like him. Aka hes a big reason why our team has the most goals for in the league. I believe Holmstrom is one of the biggest parts to our success in recent years. I just hope to hell somebody can replace him when he retires.

We ended up staying at the Marriott Renaissance Center. It was awesome glad you guys talked me into it. We were on the 60th floor and the view was fantastic, never been that high before. Game was great, 1st playoff game and the atmosphere was amazing.

The misconception that Datsyuk and Zetterberg are equal
wingslionstigers replied to JeffBridges's topic in General
I don't understand why you would want to put down one of your most important players either way. Why don't you just appreciate the fact we have them both and every other team in the world only wishes they had 2 players like that. -
Is the Riverside Hotel that bad? I have been checking out reviews and its like one guy says excellent and the next guy says hed never go there again. Don't really understand how that works. Has anyone here actually been there personally and could fill me in. I was hoping to be in walking distance to the Joe. I don't plan on being sober and either does anyone else in my party. Cabs? What are those i live in the U.P. hahah.. These other hotels some of you guys mentioned how far from the Joe are they?

Hey im trying to pick up some tickets for the Wings game on Sunday. Usually i get my tickets a few weeks in advanced so i don't know what to expect. I'm thinking about using one of these ticket websites. The thing is i live in the U.P. and i would be ordering the tickets tonight. Which means i would have to have the tickets by 8am on Sunday when i leave for Detroit. How would this work?

Why can't you have a playoff injury and not beable to post things on the internet. You wish Holmstrom had an injury are you kidding me? Holmstrom is pretty much our go to guy at this point. Tonight its going to be up to him to make sure we get pucks by Hiller. Man if you don't know anything don't try to act like you do. Id rather have Holmstrom in than Rafalski right now.

A letter to the NHL officials Association
wingslionstigers replied to XxGoWingsxX's topic in General
Needs to be fixed to clarify the point your trying to make. One period they don't get away with such things as a stick reaching around and touching another players glove aka "Hooking" (or a joke of a call) and the next period they can haul people down and it flies -
Yeah your right... I mean the Wings have only out shot the Ducks 2/1 ratio over the past 2 games. Outplayed them and had more time of possession. Your right though Babcock and the team announced they don't feel like playing anymore this season and rather be golfing so they aren't trying. Thats exactly whats going on you got it bud!
-
That was an awsome game. I thought that was the Wings best game all year. Although i didn't see the 1st/2nd period. We just couldnt catch no breaks the pucks weren't going in.
-
Wow im sick of you guys on this forum that either; A) Don't watch the games B) Watch the games and know nothing about hockey C) Only pay attention to what gets written on the states sheet Hossa has been playing great and is contributing tremendously to our team. He has been one of the hardest working players on the ice. He never stops moving his feet and is giving 200% to win a Stanley Cup. Oh and for you stat boys. Hossa has the most shots on our team in the playoffs. Hes also outscoring Datsyuk.
-
Yeah dude its pretty much the best way to protect the puck especially when you have the size and strength. I'll take this as you never played hockey before.

Chelios is a finalist for the Masterton award.
wingslionstigers replied to Salviaman's topic in General
Cheli is 47 years old. I don't think you will ever see anyone play at that age. I know people have done it in the past but look how competitive the NHL is now days, i don't think you will ever see anybody play at his age ever again. -
