I think we're locked for #1 in the division. & I think we have a good chance of being #1 in the conference & #1 in the league as well. Not that I'd push Hossa back sooner than he should be to get to those spots, I think we have a chance either way. I wouldn't call us a lock for #2 anything.

Last year, we won because of our defense. We were a shut down team. That was my argument. That was everyone's argument. The conversations were always about Crosby & Malkin vs. Datsyuk & Zetterberg. & all of us Wings fans knew that no matter how good Crosby & Malking played, no matter if Datsyuk or Zetterberg were having an off game, all of knew that we had our defense & no one could get through us. This year, I'm not feeling that way. I'm hoping there's the proverbial "switch" we can hit & if anyone can actually have one of those, I think it's us. For me, the rest of the season is a waiting game to see if & when that happens.

I noticed this, too. I think, for the most part, after 3 goals, something needs to be switched up. It doesn't matter who you want to blame. So, after the 4th, 5th, 6th goal, I said to my friend, "Maybe he's sending a message to Kenny." I don't want to start anything too crazy. But I remember when Leino was up for a few games & then sent back down. After, Babcock did an interview & was asked why he sent him back down. I believe his response was sarcastic, almost as if he was told to send Leino down & move someone else back up. Maybe Kenny's the one pushing for Osgood, & Babcock's had enough. I love both of those men, but it didn't seem right.

Thanks for this. It also made me think of just how well other teams are playing this year & we're one of the top teams. Everyone in the West is fighting for a playoff spot. You lose two or three in a row & you're out. So, we're getting the best effort of every team every night & on top of that, these teams are better than they have been in the past. Go Wings.
