yeah I don't blame Z for the teams issues, look at the roster of this team and any of the cup winners. The team would need every young player to step up and have a coming out party similar to Franzen in 08. Z just needs to play to his level, that's all I ask as a fan. The D isn't good enough anyone can see that. I'd like to lose to a team with a real goalie instead of tampon. I didn't see 2013 as a disappointment. We took the cup winners to the brink, it stung but it wasn't a failure. The Boston series was a failure.

M and Q looked great for rookies this year (M wasn't playoff ready). Top 4 is doable. Quellet could develop into a solid number 2 but it might take time.

Forget Z we need two time Stanley Cup winner Mark Hartigan.

He's had a couple games where he set up some nice plays but that isn't enough when you've been a world class player and you have the c on the chest. If he goes goalless in a 7 game series there will be questions and rightfully so.

I wish we had Garret Stafford instead of the clown show on our defense.

Yeah and I get trading for a n1 D is easier said than done. It's just you look at the lineup card and it's the worst D corps we've had since the 80s. I'm happy with the forward turnover the last couple seasons but there's only so many seasons of Smith, E, and Quincy a fan can take..

The defense needs some changes this offseason I'm tired of all these plugs. Infuse the youth completely (80 games for Marchenko and Quellet) or make a package for a stud. 55 is a number 2.

If Stevie listened to his body we wouldn't have the 02 cup or his final 3-4 years. I don't have any less respect for Broduer or Jagr if they want to keep playing the game they love and teams are willing to sign them. Maybe less respect for the GMs who offer them contracts (i.e. Holland and Cleary). Now if players were playing while putting their life in jeopardy that's another story. Fortunately that doesn't seem to happen in this day and age.

I still think he has some gas left in the tank, too bad.
