That whole play was f****** stupid I could feel it happening as soon as Franzen went down. Just feels weird being on the other end of a call like that.

Ya there's no comparison between this team and the 97 team in skill or toughness. But that's fine, different eras. I'm excited about the here and now.

I don't know about you guys but that no goal looked like a goal to me lol. w/e I'll take it, Homer got boned from so many of those calls and Datsyuk sealed it anyway.

Alfie's goal was amazing.

His play definitely isn't textbook out there but he's made up for it with his timely goals. He's a rookie and he's getting valuable experience. Big E looked shaky really up until last year (took another step this year) and I'd say it was worth the wait.

I was secretly hoping he'd be back later down the line and its looking like it could be sooner rather than later. This is huge.

Scared of the east, man some people. Pav is a frickin warrior he loves the challenge. And the East please, Pav played in the dead puck era against loaded teams in the West when he was half the player he is today.

Also every time we've been Q haven't we gone to the cup? I think I remember a stat like that floating around. Regardless, this is the best team Q has had to ice against us (that I can remember) so all of that goes out the door.

Justin Abdelkader (2G, 1A): A - this last half of the season is the best I've ever seen him play Joakim Andersson (2A): B - excellent on faceoffs, keeping him from an A is the OT loss and not much point production Todd Bertuzzi (0G, 0A): C Damien Brunner (2G, 3A): B- Clutch OT winner but also gave up a bad turnover to ice game 5(?), wicked shot but needs to work on his strength/balance Danny Cleary (2G, 3A): B Playoff warrior, enough said Carlo Colaiacovo (0G, 0A): B- couple mini turnovers but overall pretty solid Pavel Datsyuk (2G, 5A): A what else needs to be said, A+ if he scored in game 7 Danny DeKeyser (0G, 0A): B love this guy, very quietly had an elite impact defensively. the future is bright Patrick Eaves (1A): B- had some nice chances, gotta convert Cory Emmerton (0G, 0A): C- invisible most of the series Jonathan Ericsson (1A): A- quietly becoming the player we all hoped he'd be Valtteri Filppula (1G, 3A): C+ like Brunner very up and down, hopefully game 7 is a sign of things to come Johan Franzen (3G, 0A): B- clutch early in the series, lack of production late Jimmy Howard (.911 sv%, 2.74 GAA): B Darren Elliot said it best, Jimmy is a fighter. I may get down on him sometimes but it sure as hell isn't from lack of trying. Not exactly elite stats which keeps him from an A, but as we all know stats don't tell the full story for a goalie Jakub Kindl (2A): C+ eh, invisible to me. I liked him a lot down the stretch he's one of the few D we have that's naturally offensively gifted. hopefully that shows up in Chicago. Niklas Kronwall (1A): A- great defense, great phyiscal play Brian Lashoff (0G, 0A): D+ looked lost out there but I liked what I saw in the regular season Gustav Nyquist (1G, 1A): B played awesome, just wish for some more points for our top offensive prospect Kyle Quincey (2A): B- Some glaring mistakes but also some great plays Mikael Samuelsson (1G, 1A): C- thanks for the goal, didn't bring much else. Brendan Smith (1G, 1A): C- sometimes he looks like he just started skating yesterday, other times he looks like a solid NHL dman. this series was rough, but it was also his first series ever. Henrik Zetterberg (3G, 5A): A. BEAST, A+ if he was more consistant early in the series but he played like a true captain when it mattered most. Yzerman would be proud.

I wish we traded him for something at the deadline. Maybe a sign and trade this offseason? (if only it was the NBA!)

About as low as it can possibly be for a two-way 2nd line forward in his prime years. He didn't do himself any favors this year.

Edler only, if we can get him without trading any top pieces (Danny D, Nyquist, Tatar, etc) so unlikely. I don't know enough about Kassian to feel one way or another. Kesler and Burrows are Getzlaf and Perry-lite, no thanks.

really need a veteran backup goalie. we haven't had a reliable back up since Conklin the first time around.

Emdog should be out because everyone else brings something more to the table (I got nothing against him, I like him) but he seems to have a spot set in stone. Nice, a little old and slow but I'd rather have vets in a do or die game. I don't imagine they'll stay on the same line all night.

And replace him with who? Look I'm always been on the we can't win it all with Howard bus but there is no realistic option behind him right now. "Monster" is a joke and our other goalies don't have more than a couple games of NHL experience. None of the goals last night were his fault either. 3 players left open in front of the net/slot and a turnover right in front of the net.
