The big problem with Mule is he scores points in games that we already have won and he disappears in games that we need him in. The last 20 games of the reg season we needed him to be a leader and carry this team and he didn't show up. Same with the playoffs. If Franzen scored 30 goals in the first 6 games of the year and did nothing the rest of the year would it still be a good contract? nope. He needs to be traded.

To win Championships to need above average D. We are not even close to this.

I voted no because I believe that he will want more then a 1 year deal and he will get it in this market. Jimmy needs to be pushed much harder and I think Mrazek will do that. If Mrazek can steal a few starts maybe with less work Jimmy stays healthier. win/win.

Wow what a send off! Hats off to the Vancouver Canucks for coming back on the ice. Ryan Smyth was not fast, he was not very big but he played with a ton of heart and determination. He battled in his last game like he did in every game he played. Smytty will be missed.

I would trade Franzen this off season for a top 4 d-man. The kids that are up and in the system will replace him no problem. I like players that try every night. He does not.

Lots of excuses. Bottom line is Howard has been not very good this whole season, Mule shows up for a couple of games then will return after 10-15 games, the defense has been questionable since Lids, Raffi, and Stuart left, and the heart and soul of this team Datsyuk and Z are out long term. Ken Holland needs to hit a grand slam this off season and get this team back to being a contender or be shown the door. If we were still in the west we would be dead last.

Maybe the brains behind Holland the greatest GM in the league left with Nill, Yzerman, and Bowman. Adding another plug to the line up is what we need? How many plugs that he has signed are already in GR......... I actually like Legwand as a player. Hollands track record is starting to get pretty shakey. He needs to step to the plate this coming off season in a big way and get this team back to being a contender.

Would have been nice for Bert to play this game. Chris Neil will be running our top guys for sure and some snarl in the line up would have been nice.

I actually don't mind this idea. He is a cheap option and might be able to turn it around with Detroits good passers

I don't hate Franzen but with this last head injury the Wings have to take a look at buying him out when/if he gets healthy. I get that this is an ok contract but if he is sitting in the press box what good is it? Injuries have killed the Red Wings this year and will make it very difficult to make the playoffs. Franzen has a serious head injury and the dude should hang them up because there is life after hockey

Buying out Z makes ZERO sense. Franzen on the other hand.............that's another story for another day.

Our defense on our defensive play are costing the Red Wings games. Too many shots against and too many goals against night after night. 3 rookie/young d men is too many out of 6. Yes they all may or may not develop into capable NHLers but it is a lot at once. I would put Lashoff, Kindl , and Smith on the market and see what might be available for a rental vet d man. in return. If management is rebuilding then keeping all the young guys might be a good idea but If the Red Wings are going for it then changes have to be made on the back end to make the playoffs and have a chance at a good run.

I love Helm but in no way should he be top six. Just doesn't have the hands to be on a line with Pav and Alfie. Bert is slow but can score. Andersson needs to be much better to keep his spot.

Gus and Tatar look like they will be the leaders of this team at some point in their careers. Hard to believe that Holland didn't see this potential in these two and as a result signed Cleary.

Exactly. With the play of the likes of Gus and Tatar the Wings are in good shape up front. The defense is terrible. I actually think Quincey has been way better as of late but Kindl, Lashof, and Smith are very scary when they are on the ice.

I think Wings fans should be more pissed off and the lack of defense then the ref's. A bad call or not 6g against does not get you too many wins.

It take Todd McLellan from the Sharks. Wings should have never let him go.

I would target Mark Stuart. I think the Jets will try and resign him though. I would also take a crack at Heatly. Yes I said Dany Heatly. Detroit has been able to reform players in the past and he will be the cheapest sniper out there. Id sign him to a 1 year contract till he proves himself. I would try and trade Weiss, Kindl, and Smith, dump Bert, Cleary, Eaves, Tootoo, Sammy, and buy out Mule.

Trade Weiss for anything we can get for him. Same for Kindl and Andersson

Sammy being waived means very little. Now if he is claimed then the party can start but I can`t see that happening. Bert is going nowhere and either is Cleary.

I think at this stage and with his health issues Franzen might be a buyout option. I am not sure what he might fetch at the deadline as it all depends on his health. I would put Quincey, Eaves, Smith, and Kindl on the market and see what can be had for them. I think there is only about 6 Wings that I would say are off limits. Everyone else should/could be moved to make this team better going into next year.

There management has been awful for a long time. Smid was there best d-man and was traded away for nothing when the team lacks d something terrible a move that made zero sense. They could have filled their goalie need by putting Yak on the market. And it's a toss up over who is the bigger idiot Mac T or Lowe

I miss Todd McLellan. The Wings lost a lot when he left.

Stupid play by Cleary. suspended not even close but a real gutless puke of a thing to do yes. Hats off to Hannon for not rolling around on the ice like a little girl and wanting to tear Cleary's head off. This is just another sign that Cleary is done.

Can we really afford to keep players because they are good playoff performers? Cleary plays to the best of the ability that he has left. However he does provide some good leadership qualities.
