You do know that we have Chicago and Washington next. If we can't secure 2 points from teams like Dallas, I think it does raise some concern. I'm glad you have such confidence but the rest of us would like to have a bit of buffer and not make it into 8th spot by having to win our 82nd game of the season.

They probably have the technology but then if the NHL used it, they would lose the ability to determine outcome of games and we couldn't take that privilege away from them.

Of course in a perfect world, we would have played a perfect 60 mins game, every night, for 82 games. But in reality players are tired, s*** happens, competition is good, refs make a bad call here and there, and if you can play a good 40-45 mins in a game, that's pretty damn typical. I can count on one hand how many times this year the Wings played a good solid 60 mins. Ask anybody who actually plays hockey how often a team puts in a SOLID mistake free game for 60 mins. Even if the team doesn't play a solid 60 mins game, they are entitled to a fair officiated game within the rules of the NHL.

Toronto now has just screwed the chain of command on the ice by letting linesmen overrule the ref. The referee association should seriously look into this or else it'll be anything goes on the ice.

I stand corrected. So Toronto said inconclusive and the 2 linesmen on the ice overrules the ref ... wtf is this league coming to. Linesmen over the Ref ???

To the on ice ref'' credit, he did call it right on the ice. It's those conspirators in NHL that wants everyone to be in the hunt for the 8th spot and share the points !!

Is this NHL's way of keeping every team close to a playoff spot?

The refereeing and overall system in this league is just pathetic. Overturn a questionable goal when ref called it off 2 feet away and you're 200 miles away in an office studio???
