Ah ... this is so early. Not used to games this early in the day. Please make my day and win boys. Is it me or are others having a bit more confidence with a 2-1 lead with Howie in net than before, when we had Ozzie in net with a 2-1 lead. I know things can turn around and go 2-2 very quick but it just feels like we've won more of these tight close games this year. -
Even if Babcock is set on going with riding Howard all the way, even into the playoffs, you've got to put Ozzie in once in a while to give the kid a rest ... or is Babcock thinking 2 weeks over Olympics is plenty of rest ?? I'm really concerned that we'll burn this kid out. You can't give a kid like 95% of the games like a Brodeur or Luongo ... even these guys run out of gas. I still think Ozzie should have taken one of the Islanders or Carolina games.

Not totally depressing, we got a game in hand on LA. And if we play it and get the 2 pts, we'd be ahead.

Great 2 pts no matter who it is against and we are slowly making our way back up the standings. Imagine if we would have got 2 against the Islanders ... but no use crying over spilt milk. Why didn't Howie get at least 2nd or 3rd star with 37 saves on 38 shots?

If Lidstrom wanted to play a couple more year at 4 mill/yr, I'd take that any day. Rafalski is making 6 mill/yr and his stats are no better. -

Last year, Hiller started over Giggy. So there are teams that might choose a rookie over another guy who has to take off at least one Stanley Cup ring to lace up his skates. BUT in the end, they lost to us.

Conventional wisdom would have said Ozzie locked in for playoffs. Last year Conklin played well but playoffs were Ozzie's - unquestioned. HOWEVER ... if Jimmy Howard keeps playing like this, I think it would be hard for Babs not to give Howie the starts in the playoff. Should Howie get the jitters and nerves ... then go to Ozzie. JH is making a believer out of all of us.

No way Howie can repeat performance like he did in LA ... you're setting him up for failure. I'm not very optimistic about winning in San Jose ... however, if we take one point tomorrow night, I'd be pleasantly surprised.
