Yah, now that NHL has started playing regular season games in Europe that takes more of a toll on teams/players. I still say shorten the regular season and start playoffs 3 weeks earlier.

I know GM's would never go for this. But from a NHLPA point of view or a player's point of view, for a 72 game season, a player would make approx 87% of what they are making. 10 games translates to about 3 weeks. An average $3 mill player would make $2.63 million ... let's just stop and think about this ... if you were a player, would you take a bit less to 3 weeks more off per year? For some guy making that many millions ... does a few hundred thousand really make that much of a difference? And honestly, everyone wants the playoffs just to start ... those last 10 games is like ... let's get this going already. As for more games=more revenue ... yes for teams that fill the place. But here is another scenario ... Team A fills stadium to 80% of seats for an 82 game season but fills 90% seats in an 72 game season - maybe difference isn't that much.

No don't trade Osgood, save him for playoffs. BUT let's get a 1/2 decent tandem for bad nights like Sat and keep Ozzie competitive. Perfect solution.

Folks, he's just being honest. Hard to argue with the facts. As for 'miracle' comment. If he meant it would be a miracle for us to get home ice advantage throughout ... again, you have to agree. In fact, we didn't earn it last year, San Jose (had they not been knocked out in round 1) had the #1 spot. We just lucked out. Realistic assessment to me. I don't want management to always paint a rosy pie in the sky opinion.

Statistically he is at 2.74 GAA and 902 SV%. Let's see if Ozzie can trim that GAA down to 2.2 or 2.3 and get SV% up to .91 or .92. He doesn't need to be leading goalie in the NHL but somewhere in the top 10 means our team will have a consistent record.
