I think it's a good thing ... part on good terms, no one gets fired. Give room for Blashill. Babs can pick any role he wants in the management team.

Franzen is an OK regular season player but his playoff performance has dropped off significantly. Boy, I miss those days when he has that beast mode gear and score a goal a game.

Just checked Capgeek for our team, so thrilled that Cleary, Samuelsson, Bertuzzi and Quincey are UFA's. Please do not resign these guys, that's close to $10m off our salary cap. Alfie ... performance per $ wise, he's not bad. I wouldn't be disappointed if we gave him another year. Legwand ... no thanks. Got to get Weiss going ... Franzen ... he's at $4m ... that's fine, he produced 16g, 25A, 41 pts Sign Sheahan, Tatar, DeKeyser Let Mrazek back up Howie. Sign a good Dmen or 2, like Erhoff, bring up Mantha ... we should be in good shape.

Kids like Nyquist and Tatar got us into the playoffs but they were silent/invisible ... all that experience in the Calder Cup didn't turn into anything. Got to wait another year and see.

No ... to me losing in first round 4-1 and not making it into the playoff is not much different. This is as weak as it can get .... I guess the only thing worst is to be swept.

Oh well ... can't say that I'm surprised but I was hoping for a bit more fight and possibly an upset. I just hope to God that this is not our fate for the next few years ... squeeze into 7th or 8th spot, out in round 1 or 2. This year was a bit of regression seeing as how last year at least we made it to round 2.

It's OK either way ... Howard or Monster, that isn't our problem. The weakest link right now is our defence, close second is our inability to score. Those first 3 games were horrendus in terms of goals. Game 4 was a smidgeon better but didn't get the W for it.

Where is Mrzak, is he busy with Calder Cup run of his own? Aren't we more important?
