Like everyone else here ... i must say, pleasantly surprised. I have to think the pickins are slim. Guess Thomas didn't make the cut ... comeback didn't quite impress. Good in another way, I'm Canadian ... if there was ever a time I wouldn't mind if JH performed badly, it'd be at Sochi. And if US plays Sweden ... that'd be interesting, wouldn't it?

WTF? I left the game when we were up 2-0 and I check when I got home and we lost 3-2 in OT. That's enough ... play Gus till he hits a bad streak. Stop fooling around and try to get Howie 'going' ... it's not going to happen till the playoffs maybe. Damn this is frustrating ! 2 losses to Florida ... pathetic.

So apparently, here is the NHL's instigator/aggressor rule (from Yahoo article ). Question where the hell was Shanahan when Emery was pummeling Holtby? Since it's a rarely-cited rule, here's a refresher course on the important section from the league rulebook: The aggressor in an altercation shall be the player who continues to throw punches in an attempt to inflict punishment on his opponent who is in a defenseless position or who is an unwilling combatant. A player must be deemed the aggressor when he has clearly won the fight but he continues throwing and landing punches in a further attempt to inflict punishment and/or injury on his opponent who is no longer in a position to defend himself.

Normally, I'd say go with the hot goaltender but this is a back to back and it's Florida ... I think it would have been safe to put JH in net. Don't have to settle the Gus or Howie question just yet but if Howie went in and lost .. then it's ride Gus all the way to the bank.

Too bad we didn't get to see Brunner. Got to put Howie in on a back to back. Then following game ... Gus.

Just caught the highlights ... Tatar with that diving goal last week, Monster with the behind the back saves ... all plays of the year material. Looks like we got a lucky one on that Trapezoid call ... Next game is Florida, I think it's safe to put Howie in ... if we can't beat Florida with Howie, then he is the back up from here on end ... period.
