Imagine if winner takes all in the last game of the season with Dallas!

Even though we won today, we didn't really move up. Dallas has game on us. If they win, they are 8th, we are 9th. There are 7 games left. I'm going to say we need 5 wins to get in ... OUR PLAYOFF BEGINS NOW !!!

It was a good night.

Based on previous outings, I don't have very high hopes. I'll consider it a good night if we get one point.

Of course anything CAN happen but you got to be realistic. You forgot the 2011-12 LA Kings, but they had an underperforming roster all season and got it going on all cylinders just before playoffs. I think what we see of our team right now is what you're going to get ... we are pretty well performing to the level of our roster of players. How about we talk again after Friday night.

Just checked boxscore ... we were leading 2-1 at one point, that's good. They got a shorthanded goal, that's not good. We got a point, that's good. We didn't get two, that's not good.

I think I'm happy that Howard signed a 6 year deal ... part of me thinks he is worth $4.5 mill range which isn't chopped liver but then 3-4 years from now, a $5.5 m contract might seem/feel like a $4.5m one with inflation and all. Would have been nice if we could come in a bit less but hey, what the hell is Holland doing with the cap space anyhow ... nothing! So it's all good. Welcome Jimmy to a nice long stay with the Wings!

I hope we make it in to keep the streak alive but c'mon ... really? Beat Chicago, you guys are really homeres. If we do make it in at 8th spot, it will be a very very quick exit, maybe in 5 ... or 4.

Everyone has an effective shelf life ... I think Holland is nearing his expiry date. I'd give him one more year and if this summer is like last summer (I know he tried for Suter and Parise but didn't get them in the end) then we should pass the reigns to Nil? Or maybe Brian Burke ... just throwing it out there.

I'm beginning to think that only missing the playoffs will jar management into seeing how serious our decline has been just over the past 3 years. Those kinds of off season moves or resigning (Bertuzzi, Samuelsson, Colaiacovo, Quincey - totalling $10.5 million) were terrible decisions, and sorry Holland but it ain't getting it done!

That was from 72.7% a day ago. Now sitting at 62.5% right now. Regardless, that was one big drop in a day!

Wow ... love the positive energy and enthusiasm here. I hope I'm wrong and you are all right, I really do! I don't mind admitting I was wrong. My only comment is that we tend to lose to inferior team and do well against better teams ... except for that 7-1 Chicago fiasco.
