Hold up. The Selanne quote says otherwise. I would say that makes it a proven fact that with May in the lineup we will go from getting pushed around to a team nobody wants to touch due to fear. We should find out in the next few days whether or not he will Holland will sign him. If I'm not mistaken he was quoted as saying he wouldn't make a decision on him until after we return from Sweden. Hopefully if he signs him then Babcock puts him in the lineup quickly so we can see what he's going to bring to the table before to far into the season. Well, and I'm curious to see how good a fighter he is. We haven't had a GOOD fighter since.... never mind.

Just further emphasis on how stupid this is. Kirk Maltby is leading our team. Will you be surprised if Kirk Maltby scores 82 points with 164pim and a plus 41? Yes, I will be surprised. Two lackluster games half way across the planet are not an indication of how the season will go.

How much of that will improve with a little confidence from solid goaltending? Huge boost to the penalty kill, huge boost to defense, and a boost in the amount of focus they can spend on offense. Obviously there are other problems but with some solid goaltending you'll see improvement in other areas.

Yet another game we flat out deserved to lose. Special teams, defensive play, finish, effort, all lacking. I hope they realize they can't coast through this season.

This is exactly it. We played like s*** while they played a great game. They played strong as a defensive unit with a confident netminder and just outplayed us but we get a rematch tomorrow. The chemistry Franzen and Datsyuk has is negated by their burden to carry Holmstrom. I think it shows.

What the hell happened? Last I checked we were up 3-1 with 10 minutes left in the second. The D playing poor again?

The way Florida plays makes very extremely entertaining hockey regardless of the outcome.

2 players have stood out for me so far:Leino and Ryno Leino looking terrific on the rush, great vision, and even better puck possession. Ryno just looks awful. He's going back to Sweden.
