Honestly, I could see a team like Vancouver throw a 3 mil contract at him to play for a year.
-
One final update for the season that includes the playoffs. Honestly, I think he was one of the most important additions the team made this season. After Helm, he was our most consistent penalty killing forward, creating a terrific tandem. Hopefully he's back next season.

Datsyuk and Holmstrom have not been horrible. However, the majority of the team has in fact, been horrible.
-
Hopefully I'm wrong. They've been really good the past 2 games.
-
If we're going to be a one line team then we might as well load up and make one really great top line with ZDF. I've seen nothing out of our current second line that would suggest it will eventually start putting the puck in the back of the net.

No, Datysuk will score 77 points because it's the next step in the pattern. 87,87,97,97,77,.... This is a concrete science which means not only will he score 77 points this season but he'll also score 77 points next season. Irrefutable evidence.

Datsyuk won't win for the following reasons: A.Lack of blocked shots B.Lack of penalty kill time C.Won the award twice in a row D.He's having a down year offensively E.Kesler has all the hype from the media and the Olympics only bolstered him. F.Media isn't behind Datsyuk this time around. G.Too many perceived struggles from Datsyuk and the Wings as a whole. For all these reasons Kesler will win the award instead of Datsyuk whether I agree with the decision or not.

Detroit loses 5-2. Miller and Cleary with the goals.

Sigh... here we go again.

Blah performance tonight. Stupid, stupid, stupid mistakes tonight.
-
If Datsyuk is the one going on LTIR, it's game over.

Team Sweden Coach Following Franzen Progress
thedatsyukian replied to DetroitWhat's topic in General
I'm torn on of whether I would want him to go or not. If he doesn't go, it gives him more time to rest and get 100% healthy. If he does go, it gives him an opportunity to play some high-level hockey to get back up to game speed. If he doesn't go, it may take him longer to get up to game speed. If he does go, there's the possibility of having a set back from pushing to play in the Olympics. -
Kronwall, Eaves OUT, Holmstrom questionable, Franzen, Miller IN
thedatsyukian replied to a topic in General
Kronwall being out? No way! Franzen, Miller vs Kronwall, Eaves Who wins? With Holmstrom being the wild card. -
Don't take Don Cherry serious. He's an idiot.
-
Nothing like shooting right into the goalie when he's down... rather than shooting it at the rest of the wide open net.
-
Hiller... looks like we're going to be in for a tough night.
-
Incoming terrible powerplay.
-
We need a goal here to get a little bit of momentum.
-
8 points in his last 8 games.
-
Filpulla has something like 12 points in his last 16 games and 6 in his last 7 games. With the return of Williams and Kronwall to the second power play unit there should be increased production out of that unit as well.
-
Homstrom-Datsyuk-Bertuzzi Franzen-Zetterberg-Williams Cleary-Filpulla-Miller Draper-Helm-Eaves Two pretty good scoring lines while maintaining some solid offensive balance. A really good checking/defensive third line and a terrific energy line.

Tatar Steals the #1 Wings Prospect Ranking from Kindl
thedatsyukian replied to Drake_Marcus's topic in General
Very good point. Kindl's progression has essentially stalled with little to no improvement in any area of his play. -
Updated his stats with a little extra this time. Sorry with school and work it's hard to update it after every game so I'll try to update after every 4-5 games.

Tatar Steals the #1 Wings Prospect Ranking from Kindl
thedatsyukian replied to Drake_Marcus's topic in General
It's hard to NOT have Tatar as our top prospect after the way he's performed in the Ahl as an 18 year old. The one outlier on this is Coetzee who is shockingly low for a player having the kind of year he's having.
