I was gonna make the Patrick Kane joke. Damn you!
-
Enjoy, metro Detroiters.

FFS Ericsson.

When Datsyuk has a monster of a game like he did last night, any line he's on would look good.
-
Can we make it 18 goals in two games?
-
Note to Columbus fans: garbage-throwing should not turn into a team tradition.

I'd like to see them try to go after a pair of servicemen and promptly be crucified by every news media outlet ever. Maybe the Jackets would get some national exposure that way and they could keep their team.

I dunno, depends on how you look at the Richards hit. I think Richards completely blindsided him, the difference is that Booth actually had the puck. In any case, Booth definitely could have used a mirror on that play.

The NHL's top secret flow chart for handing out suspensions
ComradeWasabi replied to WpgMikos's topic in General
No kidding. I loved just about everything he wrote, even his "liveblog" of his night at the ACC on Saturday managed to take away a bit of the sting of losing 5-1 to the Leafs in front of the whole country. -
The NHL's top secret flow chart for handing out suspensions

You shouldn't have linked me to Down Goes Brown, I probably spent two hours browsing his past articles. That guy is a great comedic writer, I was laughing out loud at all kinds of his stuff. -
Not gonna lie, at the same price tag, I'd rather have Giguere than Rafalski.
-
I think you mean Hasek In any case, Crymson's at least partially right. He was prone to making extremely stupid mistakes in the defensive zone, and his giveaways were more often than not, cringe-inducing. That said, he had been much better last season before he got hurt.

Am I the only one who snickers every time Kevin Weekes is called the color commentator? I hope not, or else I'm going to look really racist. In all honesty though, he's certainly not a very good colour guy. I find myself disagreeing with a majority of what he says whenever he opens his mouth.
-
Okay, Williams hasn't been very good, but come on, we really do not need another injury.
-
Rafalski blew it hard on that second goal. Twice.
-
Lebda sucks. But seriously, why do the Wings never get up to play Toronto? Three years in a row now, I'm seeing lazy Red Wings when playing the Leafs.
-
I am actually angry that I'm not at the game now.
-
No kidding. We couldn't not get CBC if we wanted to. If you only get one channel in this country, it's CBC.
-
You really do not want anybody to go through your old posts and start bringing up some of your canned hockeymetrics.
-
Does Paul Boyer really have to sew patches onto 22 jerseys himself? They can't get an intern to do it?
-
I don't like to see players get hurt - usually - but suffice it to say I was never less disappointed than when Kopecky missed playoff time two years running.
-
As someone who unfortunately lives in the middle of Leafs Nation, I'm praying that we blow them out. Having to suffer through the Wings' mediocre performances against the Leafs two years in a row was torture- although the Cup win in there eased the pain. If the Wings can win this one, maybe I can stop yelling "1967!!!! 1967!!!" at every Leafs fan who opens their mouth.

Kopecky wasn't good at hitting. He rarely, if ever (and I'm being conservative here) created turnovers with his hits; he certainly never made opponents alter their decision-making for fear of being on the receiving end of a Koko check (see Kronwall for a good example of what this looks like), he was never able to inject any energy into the Wings' lineup and certainly never quickened the pace of the game when he was on the ice. He wasn't a defensive liability while he could stay on his feet. Complimenting him any more than that will make anyone's nose grow.

Okay, so you want to twist words; I didn't say it was "mandatory", either. It's important to make the distinction, however, between the Flames' management saying "there will be a clinic for you players and your families to go get the H1N1 vaccine, go get it", and saying "I heard there's going to be a private clinic which has the H1N1 vaccine at this location and this time... wink wink nudge nudge". I'm simply interested in knowing which one was the case; if it was the former, the blame lies on the shoulders of Flames management. If the latter, the blame still lies with management, but also with the players, as they chose to go get this vaccine ahead of schedule. Regardless, I can't condone the vaccination of players who did not fall into the "priority groups"; it shouldn't have happened, and I'm especially offended by the players who were talking about how they were "high-risk" as hockey players. Even the concession workers at the arena have a higher risk of catching H1N1; they're in close quarters and exchanging items with hundreds or thousands of people every time there's a game. The selfishness of the players who believed they deserved the vaccine is what bugs me the most.

Leino rocking the argyle sweater. Good man. Wish I could have gotten down there, looks like it would have been pretty awesome.
