Can we keep in mind that Lilja outscored Jack Johnson two seasons running? Granted, Lilja played around 20 more games this year but the point remains. Johnson has not proven himself to be worth significan assets yet. Johnson signing this deal is not too far from Flip signing for 5 years at 3 million. Flip signs now for 3 million, is overpaid for a couple years and then hopefully by the end of his deal his salary is below where it should be. In Johnson's case, LA gave him what he's worth now for two years and they'll reevaluate him later. Johnson is good, but he has a lot left to prove at the NHL level.

The hats had issues with the logos not being put on properly. Mine is peeling at the corners. I'd imagine they're sold to replace any that fell off.

Zherdev could thrive in a competitive, winning environment like Detroit, especially with our locker room. Not that Pavel could translate for him or anything. Unfortunately, we don't REALLY have the space for him. I don't foresee this happening but I would probably support the move if it did.

On a Mac-related note, I was privileged enough to be physically present and with an excellent vantage point for one of his final NHL fights against David Clarkson on November 8th, 2008. Had seats right behind the visitors' penalty box at the Joe and stood and cheered him on through that whole marathon wrestling match. Makes me smile just thinking about it.
